Wouldn't PAYDAY 2's higher player count be an inadvertently positive thing?
Okay, so... hypothetically speaking PAYDAY 2 in the last 7 days has averaged a daily peak of ~30,000 players (via Steam Charts), while PAYDAY 3 averages ~2,500. This means that ~32,500 steam users actively engage with PAYDAY as a franchise in the last 7 days, and are potentially aware of PAYDAY 3 at any possible moment.

Of these 30k PD2 players who are not actively keeping up with the status of PD3 through social media platforms can still be made aware of new updates DIRECTLY through the news feed on the Steam library, or even within PD2 itself via the banner ads on the main menu. This is not even mentioning the console player base who we 1. Do not have concrete numbers of to make definitive statements on. & 2. Can be notified of anything new for PAYDAY 3 through automatic game updates.

PAYDAY 3 is in a REALLY BAD state as of right now and deserves the CONSTRUCTIVE criticism it had coming. However the franchise itself is doing just fine and will continue to survive, despite what the steam forums/ Reddit/ Twitter users with an obsessive power fantasy would have you believe when cherry picking the player count of ONLY 1 of the 4 available platforms the game is purchasable on, makes massively unfounded statements on how "Everyone has refunded the game", and proceeds to go play another game that's owned by the same company that continues to make sales off of.

I don't like the situation either but for a supposed "Dead game" there is an awful lot of people posting & commenting daily, often times more actively than the game with more than ten times the active player numbers. Apathy is death, and this isn't apathy.

^ No need for wall of text, anyone who doubts my claim can watch the video you so blatantly copied and then read your "very original" thoughts.

Players
People trying to start a heist....

"An awful lot" posting and commenting is a stretch. I have a dozen or so people here on my blocklist and frequently see threads and comments marked as "...by a blocked user".

There aren't that many people commenting here, it's just the mostly same handful individuals. A lot of players of games never interact with the respective social media channels so whatever people write here is no very reliable indicator either way.

1, It’s on game pass so the majority of the console players didn’t even buy the game.

2. Not trying to sound rude but if we have numbers for 1 platform which is technically one of the biggest platforms especially for games that Started on this platform, aka payday so yes hypothetically the majority of the fans who bought the game would play on steam. Considering that’s where it released. But if you apply common sense and use sensible data than you can’t really believe if this game barely
Scratches 2500 daily players that it’s actually doing much better on any other platform. I don’t hate the game or the franchise but their stock has went way down and the reviews don’t lie. If you want to believe the game is doing 1 billion players on console that’s fine but that just makes you delusional from the reality that starbreeze dropped the ball and it’s all their fault. Nobody to blame but them they wanted always online to push micro transactions and ended up with a dead game. Serves them right if you ask me but I find it almost brave to have that amount of balls to make such a bold move on a niche franchise that could literally die by making 1 bad decision. They aren’t rockstar or activision popular.

On the plus side once PD3 officially dies in a couple of months they'll start making more DLCs for PD2.
