If they go down then the servers can potentially go down and then this game is unplayable, even for single player solo.
If not? Ah well. If they're going to go under they better hand the reins over to somebody else though before they bail.
Must suck being a dev, work on a game for however long and have all that work wiped because the big man said "Change it.".
yeah its pretty bad. i uninstalled after 1.5 weeks because i still had matchmaking issues. this game is probably the worst launch of 2023 because of the mm issues.
if this is the case, since i bought the expensive edition with season passes,
Imagine they don't release the DLC's anymore, would i have grounds on a refund via steam?
i really wanna see PD3 become a god tier game... but at the moment it just reminds me of cyberpunk, so i guess i'll wait i can't refund it anymore now anyway
With the current information and progress Starbreeze will be around for 2-3 years minimum worst case scenario. Best case they will expand be profitable YoY.
Currently, there's way too many bad decisions that it's up there in the list of bad games and the game needs some fundamental reworks starting with letting players host their own lobbies and not being forced to play on Starbreeze's servers... And getting rid of the nebula account requirements.
I doubt that they have gotten the entire sum from the publisher, at least not for the "planned content". Usually the funds from such publishing agreements are given out when certain milestones are reached. Anyway, "planned" is in no way an ironclad agreement. The publisher could still very well scrap them. Hell, their walking dead game was killed shortly after release and no refunds were given to those who bought the more expensive versions that came with a "season pass" of sorts.
there's no chance they ditch pd3 since it's their only valuable IP, and to their credit, they do have a pattern of fixing their mistakes (ww2 still gets updates, OKTWD they literally lost the rights)
