game trash kkkkkkkkkkkkkk ...I don't have problems with crashes or anything, this game for me running smoothly, but this is the only game where my temperature goes through the roof without stopping
Keep an eye on the temperature, it has PS3 graphics but everything goes up.
I would run health checks on storage for starters, maybe memtest RAM too, though RAM issues would BSOD more often than freeze so I doubt RAM. A clean GPU driver install wouldn't hurt but I'd disable any auto overclocking Nvidia might be doing and test that before the hassle of DDU and reinstall.
And definitely close Discord and test that before absolutely anything; it would not be the first time it caused a game to freeze either because of it's rich presence nonsense or it's overlay. Steam has voice chat if you need it for the game.
Also you are the only that said anything about "2 different games", so no it is not "2 different people in 2 different games" it's you seeing an issue that sounds like yours and attaching yourself to it.
I don't mind helping both of you troubleshoot it, but you can lose the snark, and you both are going to have to give up a lot more info about your setups. OS is a good start, but also what kind of thermals are you seeing?
Have you tried re-seating cables and RAM and what have you?
Does anything show up in Event Viewer at the time of the freeze?
Freezing can be a bit more annoying to troubleshoot than a BSOD if there's nothing in the Event Viewer...
OP said: After a complete random amount of time playing instead of crashing my pc freezes and I cant control anything anymore.
I said i'm having the same issue, mostly in Valorant. 2 different people, 2 different games, same issue.
My PC is fine and I've only been having issues since the last time my windows updated, I've already run DDU and reinstalled the latest NVIDIA drivers. Didn't freeze up while on old 4xx drivers and didn't freeze before manually installing the newest drivers.
You don't have the issue, that's great for you. I appreciate that you're attempting to somewhat offer basic advice but the only person being snarky with a high and mighty attitude here is you.
Then wtf do you call
Op never even said they were on Nvidia, you are latching on hard, and while ignoring the fact that Valorant has that notorious anti-cheat that may or may not be your issue.
This is stupid logic, flat out.
They are completely different games but for some reason you assume you must be having the same issue as they are. The only way that comes even close to making any sense is if both of you have this issue in every Unreal Engine 4 game.
Just listen to yourself:
"That person is freezing in Payday 3, just like i'm freezing in Valorant. This is the exact same issue and there is no differences at all"
Suit yourself with your arrogance though, I'll help OP if they want it.
Anything connected to that GPU can be the problem, GPU/cable/drivers or monitor.
99% of the time it's just a driver crash, where the driver can't recover itself. Normally if a driver crashes, the screen will freeze or turn black for like 30 seconds and then it would restore itself. But it can't always recover itself so you need to help it by manually resetting your PC.
So, update your driver to an older version or to a newer beta version and try again.
It's the newest one and is obviously working or you would see more posts than just yours about this.
What the user on AMD isn't telling you is AMD is notorious for Driver crashes and you often need to rollback drivers with them. ( a year and a half ago I spent 4 months on an old AMD driver just to fix a Cp77 bug)
This is far far less common with Nvidia, and you're far more likely to cause issues with your newest games if you roll back your nvidia drivers. So if you play Cyberpunk, Party Animals, Warhaven, or Witchfire, you are going to potentially break those games by rolling back.
