Thoughts on the soundtrack?

Payday 1 and 2 were, of course, filled with bangers thanks to Bain, but PD3 is kinda lacking in this respect imo. There are a couple bangers, like the Golden Sharke and Touch the Sky tracks, but most of it is very derivative. The Dirty Ice track, for example, is obviously a remix of Green Bridge from PD1 and the Road Rage track is a remix of Undercover. And every song uses the damn cloaker sound effect which is confusing af during gameplay.

So is Starbreeze not letting the composer come out of his shell? He seems like he has potential but his work needs some work imo

Golden Sharke's was ruined for me thanks to big chungus.

Only one I can really remember off the top of my head is the NRFTW's, rest are pretty forgettable imo.

Gustavo made great OSTs for PD2 and for some reason here he dropped the ball completely. PAYDAY OSTs usually stand out on their own but PD3 ones just feel like a good 15s bit stretched into an entire song, with Gold and Sharke being the only good one.

I think the stealth sections are way better this time, they just hit hard when switching from 3-5

Road Rage and Touch The Sky make me feel literally nothing and I can never remember how they go even if I always play with in-game music on.

It's aite. I'm mostly missing some of the bangers from PD2 hoping they bring back the whole custom soundtrack deal. I'll just import the entirety of the PD2 OST.

Kinda miss Searchlights the most tbh.

I agree there are no bangers like in PD 1 and 2, music is good but not outstanding good. Maybe it hasn't grown on me yet... although i love big chungus heister edition.

its like elevator music for stealth taht maybe okisch but for loud ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ there is no real drive it still fells like elevator music (in other words i play my own music because it sucks)

They're not the greatest IMHO, the sooner a music selection feature is added the better, because I'd adore modders adding in all the songs from 2, as I'm a much bigger fan of Simon's work.

I'd say the music was one of the really backbones of Payday 2

It's kinda bad honestly, at the point where I'd rather play my own. we need a music player with Viklunds tracks ASAP.
