Normal, I got:
1- Basic (2xCamera)
2 - Motion detector
3 - Alternating lasers
4 - Motion detector
5 - Motion detector
6 - Alternating lasers
7 - Alternating lasers
Overkill, I got:
1 - Basic (2xCamera)
2 - Motion detector
3 - Floor sensor
4 - Motion detector + lasers
5 - Floor sensor
6 - Floor sensor
7 - Alternating lasers
I then tried it on Hard for good measure, after I noticed you said "Hard":
1 - Basic (2xCamera)
2 - Motion detector
3 - Floor sensor
4 - Alternating lasers
5 - Floor sensor
6 - Floor sensor
7 - Alternating lasers
So that explains that, apparently I've only done this heist quiet on Normal, which was more than enough for me. Looks like they spam floor sensors on every other difficulty besides Normal, which, yeah, forces you to mask up, that guy was right.
Another reason this is the worst stealth in the game.
I imagine if they release Death Sentence, this map will just be Floor Sensor combined with Alternating Lasers in every exhibit except E1.
I can get it in heavy armor without rush. Spam slide jump combo with double tap spacebar to cancel out the last portion of the slide animation that makes you slow down. You go way faster while carrying something heavy with that.
Granted I do this on loud so the gate is open and the route is shorter, but when I stealth in light armor it's comfortably attainable with the slide jump, and has over a third of the bar left whenever I run it back.
I've done OVK stealth on Cradle/Dirty/G&S solo
But ♥♥♥♥ me the timings on the Lead Guard and RNG dependent manager computer spawn make it a true test of willpower cam hopping to make it sure you have the correct window of opportunity, not salty that I got my last run ruined by a Guard noticing me have a human shield through a wall too.
Either you get a good manager PC no hassle, or you have to crowd control a whole room of civs, if this game had limited zipties it would be so much ass.
Which is why it's a pain when you can't stay unmasked and why I didn't like Surphaze or Touch the Sky the first times I did them.
List of what I thought about each one (in no particular order)
********The ones I thought were easy to solo stealth********
1) No Rest For the Wicked I started on like Very Hard or Overkill or something. I brought my loud gear and planned to get as far as I could then go loud when they caught me. I ended up stealthing the whole thing without really trying. Kind of ruined my plan of getting to enjoy a loud game for once lol.
2) Rock the Cradle was annoying the first time but that's just because I didn't understand it. 2nd time i stealthed it no problem. It gets significantly harder if you mask up though. Trying to stealth it that way would be much much harder.
3) Gold and Sharke (disclaimer, I've only done Normal mode on this one).
I stealthed this solo on my very first attempt. Probably the hardest thing was finding how to get in at first and then wandering around and finding all the crap I needed to find since I was going in blind. But actually emptying the vault was very easy.
I looped the camera in the vault.
There were no guards. The first guard I would encounter was in the lobby.
So I could just run down and as soon as I was in eye sight of the lobby guard, I was in the public area so he stopped being suspicious.
Then I'd just close the door behind me as I walked in the private area. Had the camera there looped as well. Threw my bag in the closet and then went back.
As soon as I opened the door I was back in Public Area so the guard ignored me again. Then I just ran back into the vault.
Repeat.
I then did the same going from closet to garage through the stairs. I hadn't killed anyone so I could have killed the guard and just run the rest but I wanted to stay unmasked so I had to keep an eye on him and the 3 cameras.
I'll have to do that one again on harder difficulties to see if I still think it's easy to solo.
********Medium Difficulty*********
4) Dirty Ice is challenging solo but only if you want to get everything "perfect". Mostly because it has kind of contradicting goals.
If you're masked up, it's hard to get the front. Constant civs moving in and out, it's hard to move everyone out of sight before someone sees and starts a chain reaction.
So it seems like you should do the front first without masking up.
But if you do the front first, the manager often leaves which keeps you from getting access to the back room to sort the jewelry.
So if you want to sort the jewels, you have to mask up early which makes the front extremely hard.
Supposedly there's a favor you can buy to keep the manager in the store but I've literally never gotten it.
5) 99 Boxes
This one isn't too bad. It's just trying to clear a safe route and then RUNNING AT FULL SPEED to get the bag there in time. Stealth and running at full speed are contradictory unless you have total map control/awareness.
********Ones I think are hard to solo stealth*********
6) Surphaze
This freaking map. I don't like because it is all but a requirement to buy the zipline. You shouldn't HAVE to buy an asset just to make it feasible regardless of how cheap it is. If they expect you to always use a zip line, why is it not a part of the mission like in 99 Boxes?
I've tried multiple times to try to get all the bags to the van without it.
I've tried setting up micro cameras to watch for when the path was clear but:
1) the sheer number of trips you have to make
2) the fact you can't see much and there's a ton of blind corners even with cameras
3) civilians constantly stop and wait near the door and randomly decide to move again
4) There's also no telling how many civs will spawn and walk down that path at any point in time. Sometimes it's just 1, sometimes it's like 5.
5) If you mess up ONCE and a single person sees you, that's basically it. It's extremely difficult to recover from that and not set off a chain reaction. And guess what? You just wasted god knows how much time and have to start all over.
If there was something you could do to secure a safe (or at least more consistent) path through then I wouldn't mind as much.
7) Touch the Sky
This one annoys me but I'll admit it's probably just a bad first impression from when I was going in blind.
I don't like that it forces you to mask up, and then makes basically the whole map Private Area just to mock you if you're a solo player.
Also the fact that the first time I solo stealthed it, I got all the way through, got all the bags, and was ready to leave.
Except the only way to leave was through the front door where the guard and camera were.
I had no pagers.
I could get by once using the radio but I couldn't get back in to get all the other bags I had stashed.
I threw them up into the vent, but you can't even reach the vent because of that same guard and camera.
Oh and the reason I had no pagers? When I tried to bring the civ upstairs to open the room, he kept laying down no matter how close I stayed to him. I couldn't keep him on his feet. Then guards found him before I could make him stand up again. Had to kill multiple guards that discovered him.
I probably won't mind Touch the Sky as much when I play it again. It was just a bad first impression that made me angry lol. I have the remote hack skill now so I could set up a micro cam and remote hack the radio so I could get back inside or get to the vent now.
And glad I'm not the only one that tried multiple times to get Surphaze to work without a favor (misery loves company). I think I got a bag to the van once, and then wasn't able to get back.
Literally the exact same thing happened to me. Out of pagers, tried to kill the guard, forgot about the camera and the camera sounded the alarm. I'm not sure the front camera moves off the front door, either.
I don't think it's a particularly hard map, with the caveat that I haven't run it on Overkill yet, so I don't really know how you're supposed to avoid that front camera. I think it's overall easier, though, since you only need the main objective to leave, and if you know the keypad code, you don't have to do any of the stuff involved with getting Richie Rich away from his group huddle.
gold and sharke camera looping isnt a big deal since if your masking up just kill the cam guard. If not there is a route you can take to not get seen most of the time in the vault
touch the sky is an annoying heist overall, ive thought it was easier after my first overkill run but getting the achivement for it was pain in the ass due to the phone hacking part. If it was on a private area like 99 boxes it could be way easier
As a Touch the Sky solo stealth enjoyer, you can use the two statues on the left facing the elevator. It's VERY close when he detects you, but you can squeeze through with light armor and crouching.
Also, use the hidden vent right over the front door to transfer loot. Guards will never see it even in search. You can dump all the bags in that vent, do the guard lure to exit the area, then go down that same vent. You can still vault your way up.
