If we learned anything from how the targeting worked in PD2, it was that the silencer was only marginally effective anyways. Basically, just lower priority as long as you were the same distance away. So, realistically, you have to ask yourself, how often are you actually close to your team while using your sniper rifle?
You can fire suppressed guns and it won't allowing you to shoot cameras, doors, etc and still be able to trade hostages
During the actual assault, i don't think so. IRL suppressors actually increase overrall barrel length and give some benefits to the shooter but not many games consider that
