Press R for Research

Am I missing something, I select a skill tile and then hit R but nothing changes. No indication that I've selected something to be researched but I do seem to be unlocking a lot of stuff, just not whatever I selected.

it tells you its researching it means it prioritizes that skill above others to unlock

The skill you set to research will be unlocked just by playing. If you don't pick one manually, it'll just unlocked them one at a time down the list.

You have to research the first skill in the branch. Otherwise you have nothing to use.

Yes it says Researching even if u dont select the tile since it goes down the line but if u specify a skill it will say researching there on tile. Hard to see since the box is not popped out but ya

Yeah you see I don't have that, I'm level 44 so I've unlocked every branch a while ago now and nothing shows as researching no matter what I select. Feel like I'm taking crazy pills, hoping it's a bug they patch out...

Well then it seems liek u already researched all the skills, u can only research the first one on each column which unlocks it so "R" key is useless later for it. For example if ur CQC specialist was locked and u rearched it will open that set so u can level it up. You level the whole set by selecting CQC and equipping it and just playing games and it will keep unlocking that row

Oh wow, now I get it, thank you! Yeah maybe the UI needs some work for dummies like me, that is not intuitive.
