That said, I can't think of a single area where Payday 3 isn't a direct improvement over Payday 2 in regards to stealthing mechanics.
Good mechanics? Like clipping the heads of bodies through walls so that guards/civies that walk by technically can't see the full corpse on display?
Yeah, thats the DLC I want to spend $10 on to re-live from the PD2 days...Good mechanics.
payday 2 stealth was never given the proper attention it should have had. payday 3's stealth from the get go is a more friendly system.
but like everything else in the game its missing some key features that just should be in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, why did they remove so much stuff and think the players who've been sucking payday 2's ♥♥♥♥ for a decade wouldn't notice all the key/core features to payday 2 were removed.
Look for patterns in the guards pathing, for civs look for areas they don't really enter or move into much. Cameras are a toss up, just keep you eye out on places they could spawn and act accordingly.
It isn't really hard, but the way the maps are put together with everything overwhelms people at first. Don't let it get you down, just take your time with it and learn what you can. Let failure be your teacher in this. It sucks at first, but the more you learn from it the better you get to grasp it.
btw, if you are caught in casing mode just listen to the guards, pd3 stealth is super forgiving, getting caught does not end stealth here
also cameras rotate around in pd3 unlike pd2, so you can always wait for a camera to look away
Its this right here.. we're looking at pd3 through the rose tinted goggles of pd2..
..but i understand the frustration, It feels harsher because of the longer line of sight the npcs have now, the speed at which cameras/guards/civvies all spot you and how quickly everything spirals, it hard to mitigate with no concealment stat anymore as we can't cover up sloppy or aggressive play now there's a smaller margin for error.
I like the changes, but i do wish my fat ass wasn't spotted nearly as quickly by guards..
Using the fact that guards only arrest in secured areas makes messing with them so much easier. Though on some maps it's pointless to do on, but still it's a nice addition to the game.
someone else mentioned in a different thread that if you let yourself get caught and escorted by the camera guard, all cameras are permanently disabled
so you can disable all cameras without ever leaving casing mode as well
I'm going to have to try that now, lol.
so it doesnt always work, depends on the camera room placement
