The OVERKILL weapon system
How does everyone feel about this system? I like the idea, but the spawn areas of the weapon can be really terrible at times.

I'm not a fan it's a good idea in theory but there's only 2 right now the grande launcher is more of a detriment to yourself than a help and the sniper is all the way at lvl 40 and I can't really say its that much better than your actual gun

oh and they spawn so far away it's too much of a risk to go get one

The spawn areas are terrible. This makes sense from a "reality" perspective but I'd rather just be "authorized" to use it from a backpack or something.

I havent fully understood the system yet, only seen it being dropped on your head in the tutorial

how exactly do you unlock the overcharge call? is it in loud by getting kills or what determines if you can call the weapon in?

Honestly it feels like a useless feature. I don't use it.

I actually think its really bad, the position it is deployed usually make it an annoyance to even obtain or use, and beyond that I think its going to make a lot of weapon choices much more boring. When one of the developers said to a response if we will get LMGS he said "hmm, sounds like that would be overkill weapons in the future."

so... is every primary going to be some sort of shotgun, sniper, or assualt rifle and nothing else? Also, why for secondaries do we only get to use pistols? What the hell happened to the concept of bringing whatever in the second slot?

I believe its kills and doing objectives

Kill some unexplained numbers of enemies and you can call it in with 12 rounds for the grenade launcher, they spawn in weird spots on the map
The Piglet also has the issue of massive AoE that is more likely to kill you than the enemy

I was extremely exited when I got the mac 10 because I thought it would be a secondary but only samey pistols I guess

Feels useless, by the time I remember them we're almost done with the heist, the grenade launcher is ass and can't deal with Dozers and you end up killing yourself more with it, maybe the sniper is okay but the drop locations are most inconvient.

I was expecting more weapons after beta but only 2 is weird, I'm sure they'll sell actual good ones as DLC.

kinda seems unseless to me then, but I mostly play stealth anyway and sounds like its a loud-only feature

i think it should be that you have 3 guns, one being the "overkill" weapon that you charge by getting kills or doing objectives or whatever, and then you can pull it out instead of calling it in. Basically like an Ultimate or similar to Divisions class weapons or even Destiny's heavy weapons. Also why is there only 2? wheres the minigun, futurist tech rifle/machinegun, crossbow(exploding bolts?), dual wielding pistols or dual wielding machine guns, flamethrower, maybe something like a very strong shotgun or elephant gun? definitely think they need way more options, and it should be a bit easier to get and should just be always on your person as a third weapon.

Musket?
yeah what you said would honestly fix the whole problem with the system

i mean the sniper 2 shots or 3 shots overkill dozers its arguably the best gun in the game for dealing with specials the grenade launcher is kinda meh but if your going loud the overkill sniper is solid. you don't use it because your playing on normal with 4 perk points but when your speed farming for levels and money there is no reason to not use the sniper. use 120 rounds and slerp supplies up or pick up a sniper that can kill 5 dozers for free. you just walk to pick it up and then drop it on the group near your objective and when someone pings a dozer you pick it up and kill him then drop it again.

I actually would like that idea for stealth as well if the overcharge weapon could be something like the silenced circular saw from pay day 2, to saw open deposit boxes in stealth

and then by stealthily arresting more and more civilians you slowly charge up until you can take out the saw...
doesnt make much lore sense, but would add to the gameplay in my opinion
