unplayable performance

3080, lowest settings less than 60 fps with stutters galore. Game also looks like trash.

What I can tell - With -dx12 enabled, these stutters come from the Shaders that are being compiled when something happens for the first time.
Bullets, Explosions etc

Disabling -dx12 made my game run without stuttering

Yet, the performance is pretty bad on No Rest For The Wicked

Afterwards, so starting at Road Rage and every other Heist afterwards runs smooth for me

So try another Heist besides NRFTW
Also, if u have good amount of RAM , I would say above 16, u can add

"[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.CreateShadersOnLoad=1
niagara.CreateShadersOnLoad=1"

and

[SystemSettings]
r.TextureStreaming=0

in the Engine.ini in the "%localappdata% - Payday3 Folder"

dx12 boosted my fps but yeah it is making me stutter a good bit more. Road rage I'm getting like 120-150 frames versus 80 on wicked. Not sure how that one can run so much worse.

I can just try to help that much and I can just say, that everything besides NRFTW for myself runs smooth, that without having -dx12 enabled

Game is completely unplayable on old i7 7700k + rx 5700 xt, cpu it constantly at 90-100% while gpu is barely used, even Elden Ring a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ open world game haven't used this much of cpu and was running fine at 1440p/high/60fps.

game looks identical to new Hitman games and yet runs at 2-3x lower framerate. Optimization is a joke.

I think stutters will appear for a while, im getting 80-90 FPS in the first heist, but on the bridge its closer to 200 with a 5800x3d and 6800 xt.

What's your processor? I have a 3080 and get upwards of 80 fps on the High graphics preset. My CPU is old -- yours much be ancient.

did you make sure to update GPU drivers?

try turning off the memory protection in windows, this helps with bad stuttering. had to do this for Ready or Not or it was unplayable on dx 12

also, put the game in full screen mode. that stopped my microstutters instantly on this game

if full screen doesnt work right, and its hte first time you messed with resolution and full screen quit the game and do it again and it should work properly

I'm getting over 200 frames with 6650XT/12400F on high/ultra, some settings are chugging a lot of fps like using ultra shadows instead of high is -60 fps, enabling upscaling is also a free +50 fps with no visual impact that I could see

Impossibly sucks performance
