Okay no meme. Is anyone worried about the game?

So, for people who had a look on the store page and saw the Silver and Gold editions, has this shaken up your beliefs that this game will be great? Because for me, i'm sure the game will do well, but the editions are a bad taste in my mouth and i'm seeing the menu having microtransaction ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the screen and it's kinda worrying me. I just hope i'm wrong.

the season pass is basically just "when a dlc releases like for payday 2, you get it for free" no micro transaction other than what pd2 did

Yes, i couldn't be more pessimistic about it.

The more that gets revealed the more i get worried it's gonna be some babylon's fall tier trash. The gameplay atleast looks decent, so if the monetization isn't intrusive i might consider buying it like a few years after release or something.

I mean, break it down. What is there? You have these Gold/Silver editions. The main draw is that they come with season pass content. Each content pack appears to be more heists and weapons (and clothes?)

Is that not the same thing as Payday 2? Look how many dang DLC packs Payday 2 has.

I guess the real question is 1) is the host the only one required to have the heist (like PD2) and 2) are they gonna be priced similarly- PD2 DLC was pretty cheap iirc

It's not free, because you're still paying for it. In fact, you're practically pre-ordering DLC packs before you even know whats in them or how many you'll get for $30-$50(!) dollars extra at full price only and without being able to refund if you don't like what you get.

Bad taste is probably the most I can say? It's not very different at all from what Payday 2 has done with it's recent DLC "campaigns" buy now, at a slightly cheaper price for buying in bulk, and get the DLC as it comes out. But also as much as I want to trust Payday 3 is going to be great, let the game come out first.. I've been burned too many times getting hyped for a game that I thought was a sure thing like RAID WW2 that was DOA to even consider buying DLC for a game before it's out.

Not many people on this Earth more hyped for Payday 3 than me and I'm buying the standard edition.

The moment I see a game have multiple editions, it immediately kills any hype I might have had for the game. I love payday, but this just aint it. I'll be sticking with payday 2.

I was really happy when the release date leaked.
Then past week the change to EOS tools happened and it killed any intention for me to buy the game after past experiences with other games that made the same change like Total War.

Payday 2 had editions too, first dlc dropped in 2013 - you had 10 years to figure out which business model Starbreeze favors.
