Sorry it's so long, but work...
I played the public beta on Saturday, i.e. 09/09/2023, and I will leave this issue without comment regarding AI, NPCs or mechanics.
But I played and I think I didn't need a nebula starbreeze account but...
The guy I was playing with tells me that he can't enter the menu because first the account... nebula starbreeze.
I look at the live stream, and in fact the game requires him to first log in to the nebula starbreeze account and then connect to the steam account.
The game didn't ask me about anything like that, it just let me play...
But what if I still can't log in to this alleged account...
Today, 11/09/2023 ~ 15:13, I tried to log in using the steam account itself and there was an error, it's still there...
"INTERNAL SERVER ERROR
Something went wrong.
Try to refresh this page or log in again.
If the problem persists, please contact support at support@starbreeze.com."
Below is a screenshot as a link:

reviving to confirm some stuff.
i also played the beta and seamlessly logged in without having the need to authorize a nebula account. in fact, it can be assumed that others logged in without any issue. when you joined a lobby, some PC players would have the same name as their steam name while others didn't. the image below explains this much better:
https://imgur.com/a/bl33wF1
as you can see, i seem to be the only person who has logged in through steam without a nebula account. unfortunately, i don't have other screenshots, but have seen some players have the same name for both accounts.
additionally, i can no longer log in via my steam account as it gives me the error, "INTERNAL SERVER ERROR." i contacted starbreeze support but they were useless. nobody reached out and i am tempted to get to the bottom of this. a week from now, we'll see whether this prevents us from playing the game. hell, even if we can, could we access our rewards? will update if anything major comes up or when the game releases.
I've tried to send an email to support@starbreeze.com, but I get a message back saying that the email address either doesn't exist, or that it can't receive emails.
This thread is the only place I've found online with other people dealing with the same issues I have.
Ave!
Unfortunately, there are a lot of us and the support pretends that we are not there...
I sent e-mails to different addresses, twice, no response...
I got the answer only from the "Contact Support" button located on the website "https://nebula.starbreeze.com/support" in the lower right corner.
If you don't see it and you are using the Brave browser, turn off the shields and you will see it.
You wait about one week for a copy-paste response, you write back sending them the appropriate data and then there is silence and the problem remains - this was my case.
This is crazy, please Big Corporation please take my money and Big Corporation doesn't give a damn about us.
Fall on the Planet of the Apes...
The support there was better, crooked but better ;).
What I think might have happened here is you signed up for this and linked your Steam account and now you can’t create a new Nebula account because Steam is already linked. When you sign in with Steam directly you are essentially logging in to your old nebula account.
Check your inbox if you have some old Newsletter or registration confirmation.
Ave!
Unlikely...
I previously had 2, I mean two, email accounts and none of them exist in the database, read error when logging in.
And I don't sign up for newsletters because I don't like garbage in exchange for meaningless little things.
I prefer the option of following on Steam or saving them in the appropriate folder in the browser or the appropriate channels on FreeTube...
I tried logging in to the website via steam, and this time it asked my to input an email to make an account. My email I normally use didn't work since I made a separate account to try and fix things, so I just used my secondary for now, and everything works. I was able to claim my reward and everything.
I hope whatever Overkill did fixed everyone else's problems too.
HS. It seems like they've fixed it as I'm now able to access my account and claim my rewards. Appreciate the update.
Issue has been resolved for the time being.
AVE!
I CONFIRM!
For me it looked like this: I tried to add the steam account to the nebula starbreeze account again and... you know, first disconnect the steam account from another nebula starbreeze account.
All right...
Then I will try to log in to Nebula Starbreeze via Steam account.
And a window pops up asking me to create a new account...
Mhmm...?
Okay, so I rented a server with an unlimited number of email accounts, I quickly create new ones, register on Nebula Starbreeze and assign a Steam account.
It worked, okay, one more thing.
I unlink the steam account from the newly created nebula starbreeze account, log in to the correct one and try to add my steam account and... I SUCCEEDED !!!
MY STEAM ACCOUNT IS ALREADY CONNECTED TO STARBREEZE !!!
Finally, after over a month and a half.
Of course, I deleted the new account and if I don't log in, it will disappear after 28 days.
###
I only noticed that in the "MY PROFILE" section, or more precisely in the "DISPLAY NAME" section, it keeps changing my nickname to "NoName-numbers" from time to time.
NoName, really ...?
But nothing...
The most important thing is that what didn't work works.
I wish you all the same and check if it works for you, I'm writing here for those who didn't write in the thread but read it.
GOOD LUCK!
I decided to create a new account by logging in through steam on their website. I tried disconnecting steam from the new one and connecting the steam account to the previous nebula account, but it didn't work, so I started browsing through all the subpages and found the option to change my e-mail. It seems to me that this could be a way to connect your nebula account with the email you want(change the email linked to the account), but to test this theory I have to wait a month as I mentioned before.
I do not know if it works. if anyone checks it out sooner let me know
Ave!
Unfortunately, someone broke something and you get tired and look for a solution, because support helps like square wheels during a race - it doesn't help ;).
If you have never connected your Steam account to your Nebula Starbreeze account, then:
1) log in to the created Nebula Starbreeze account
2) add a Steam account
If the website claims that the account has already been assigned, STEAM, and must first be unlinked to connect it to this account, then:
1) Log out of your Nebula Starbreeze account
2) log in using your steam account and not the login details used during registration
3) if something changes, the website will display information to register again, i.e. provide an email address to register a new account - if you see this, it means that everything is fine, it is still a STARBREEZE error, but you can do something about it
4) enter a new e-mail address that is not in the database, then a password and a 6-digit Starbreeze generated by Nebula that will be sent to the NEW EMAIL ADDRESS
5) you confirm
6) check if the Steam account has been linked to the new Nebula Starbreeze account
7) you log out of the new account and log in again, no matter how, login details or steam
8) check again whether the steam account is connected
9) unlink them - steam
10) log in to your previous, default Nebula Starbreeze account
11) connect your steam account with your default account, Nebula Starbreeze
12) done

The second method, the 12-point method, worked for me.
But it only worked after about a month and a half, when I already had it figured out and all the hype for PD3 went away and hasn't come back yet...
I wrote to the support and it didn't help, standard copy-paste answers that only frustrated me and treated me like an idiot who didn't know what he was doing.
Try the first method from time to time, and if it doesn't work, try the second one.
Maybe one day, like me, resigned, it will suddenly work for you.
Hopefully faster than mine...
GOOD LUCK!
You can change your email address of your Nebula Starbreeze account, after change it with a brand new email. You can use your original email account to register a new Nebula Starbreeze account and link it to your steam.
Try it if the solution above cannot solve your problem!
