Redeal damage question

HEy, so I got this "Nightmare attunement" relic, that redeals 50% of arcane damage as dark, and 50% of dark damage as arcane. Does that mean, when I would deal 10 arcane damage, I deal 5 arcane and 5 dark, or 10 arcane + 5 dark? What is the general rule with "redeal damage"?

10+5 - it's a damage increase AND an opportunity to partially bypass arcane resistance
