As usual, adding storage boxes and micromanage them helps a lot but is totally not fun.
1) Feast (need food)
2) Dance Party (need potions)
3) Group Project (need apprentice, free)
Whenever you try to raise a dragon you usually want to have a good supply of these anyway because your dragon becomes useless if not being fed with the same types of meals you need and even better potions.
Having a 80% bar means you have at least 16 hours before it depletes, what do you mean you "barely have time to accomplish the task"? You have 12 hours of preparation and even if you don't have items you need to perform the ritual - you can craft it in seconds.
As people say, raising a dragon is confusing only the first time. Then you literally know everything and are ready for everything he can ask you for.
