Because that result would make sense if there's just one student stuck somewhere.
What we're saying is, just do one medical bed, but try it for every mage. Set it to one mage, see if it still gives you the inaccessible icon, then remove that mage's access and set it to the next mage. Go through all your mages with individual access to the same bed and see if any cause a problem. This isn't meant to be a permanent solution, just to identify whether or not the problem is being caused by one specific mage or not.
If I think of anything else that might be causing it I'll pop back in.
In the 2nd photo you shared they dont have access to the rooms door. Which can be seen in the bottom left of the pic, its greyed out instead of green.
In the third photo. im not sure as they have access to the beds side. It could be due to the front being against a wall the head being against a bed the right by a candelabra and the left being used as an access walkway???? taking up all 4 sides of access. Thats just a guess though. it would help to be able to see a bit more of whats going on as well.
If the door in pic 2 was not accessible, the room wouldn't be, so there must be a way into the room. Unless I'm misunderstanding how the pathing tool works?
You can see green on both sides of the bed in question in the third picture, although only a sliver is visible behind the bed. But it does indicate pathing is available to both sides. I've never needed both sides to have pathing though, the near side that is clearly accessible should be enough.
Edit:
Ok it fixed the problem although it does raise a question as to how this guy got stuck up there when their was no jobs or reason for him to be there I wasn't even doing any building stuff in that area of the school when the beds got that unreachable status.
Most often, the obstacle is closer to the character than to the object. Say it's night time and your mage wants to go to sleep, the bed will be unreachable, but that's because the mage is far away at the other extremity of the building where they just built a wall frm the other side and didn't finish the door.
The issue can be anywhere along the path. Don't look so much at the unreachable item itself.
If you use the pathing overlay to see if something is blocked you should also check the pathing tool per mage by selecting one mage after the other. You can check if one of them got stuck this way.
As long as no mage is selected, the pathing overlay shows all the places in green that at least one mage has access to..
