Voidshrooms
I feel like I am CONSTANTLY having to get rid of voidshrooms at this point... is there anythign that can keep them from spawning? or automatically get rid of them in every room or something? Driving me nuts.

I'm pretty sure that the game explains it in one of the tutorials. You need to have light in the room. There is a light overlay on the game. The bigger the room, the more light it needs to have to avoid the void shroom from spawning.

Research bigger lighting, torches don't cut it in any number. Even windows struggle to fully light a room. Most rooms are fine with 1 floor pyre and some need 2 or 3.

That is wrong. Any light works. Each room has a light number to be considered lit that can be checked at the light overlay (F2). To avoid the voidshroom from spawning, you just need to reach half of that number. Worse light just means that it has a lower light value and you need to build more of it, but you can completely avoid voidmusroom from spawning with the default light that you start with.

lol, if you dont have light in your rooms... what can you expect? i mean, having one or two rooms in the dark is always good to get voidshroom (its a resource and in fact i always have a tiny dark room for this purpose) but thats about it. Every single other room, needs to have lights!!!

Four wall torches in a room of 7x7. for example is enough. The problem of torches is not the power really, its that they give the room -2 luxury for each.

Braziers are just the ideal light source for every room. They are luxury neutral and they trhow more light than torches. But again, candelabra is even better than braziers... :p and that is what i put in all my rooms if the light color fits the room purpose.

As i always said, these games are made to be restarted over and over again, each time you are going to learn a lot of things, essential things, this is one of them. You will be learn things and restart another run with those learned things. And so on. I usually dont ask questions in forums until i played for at least ten hours straight. Many things you will not understand will solve emselves just learning for your own.

You can research for several windows that add more light to a room. Using those will free up valuable floor and wall space for luxury items later on.
Early on the small rectangular window and small round window are cheap to build, and altogether good enough for your stairwells and workshops.
