I dont get it how do I make my guys stronger?
They said to hire students theyre improved. But i hired my student and she has exactly the same caps as everyone else etc?

And yes her trials are all done. She only has +1 to dark cap because of a relic.

So are relics and wand lvls the only way to improve mages?

How are students hired as teachers supposed to be better etc?
So far my base teacher have had all the same stats.

in the latter half of the research tree you will find apprentice stones (like Earth Teaching Slab or Nature Teaching Tree etc)
once you build one of those you can make students of that magic type into an apprentice, and the apprentice is vastly stronger and can then also be hired as staff

the other way to improve staff is to give them a better wand
an apprentice hired as staff with a T3 wand will be able to reach lvl 18 and will be able to learn their magic type to lvl 8

Note that you can also upgrade the wands on your starting staff once you have found the relevant devices (there are two, both in the Underschool: one on a fairly shallow level lets you go from T1 -> T2, one much deeper in lets you go T2 -> T3).

Also, the character's level is not the same as the character's magic levels. When you hire someone as staff, the character's level cap goes up, but this doesn't improve his/her/its magic levels. Instead, what it means is that the character can gain more regular levels from doing things that award experience (and that, in turn, leads to better hp, mana, speed, and power stats).

Another way you can make your mages stronger is to equip them with Relics. They can add +max level in a wand skill, for example, or add +power or +health.

You get them mostly by graduating students (higher level students like apprentices give relics that have higher level cap, especially if they have completed trials).
You get mages (staff or student) to 'attune' (equip) them at an attunement bench, which you unlock through research.

Once they're equipped, they level up with the mage. There's a massive difference between a relic that's still level 1 and one that's been levelled up to level 10 or level 20+.

Relics come in different types, and not every student can equip every type of relic. So there's a bit of RNG involved if you want to equip a specific relic.
But even a plain old +4 power might be worth putting on a student. It'll help them fight, and they'll level it into a more powerful version.

im still so confused with relics. In the relic slots it looks like they have them equipped but it also says i have it equipped on multiple mages? But someone told me multiple mages cant use the same relic? Its so confusing.

as i said before, you need to actually attune the relic
there is a specific work bench, i think its called atunement table or something like that
if you assign a mage a relic in their character sheet they only have the order to attune to that relic, they dont actually have the relic yet
if you dont have the atunement table yet, then no relic is being attuned to yet and all relics will show up for the relic slots of your mages, because again, no relic is being used yet

assigning a relic in the character sheet just gives the mage the order to get the relic, if you dont have the means to use relics yet then nothing is happening and you will be able to give other mages also the order to attune to the same relic as the relic is not being used by anyone yet
