No build plan is annoying
Having no way to plan out buildings without having the required resources already available is really annoying. You should be able to plan out the building and have it be built once the resources become available. Would there be any reason for this to not be a good addition? To me it seems like an obvious QoL feature.

Agree. Having the planning mode a la Oxygen Not Included would be great. They already use Oxygen Not Included's priority systems, so I'm hoping porting across the build plan system would also be doable.
Trying to build the correct "type" of building is a pain too. I literally started keeping notes on what building types need what things/shapes in a notebook, because tabbing in and out, in and out of "Rooms" was maddening.

Your complains are just "features" of the game. It seems to me that you guys should look for another game cuz i dont think this is for you.

Our complaints are EXACTLY what these forums are for when playing a game in Beta.
It seems to me you should look for another forum that is for Karen fanboys only.

I think the current system works adequately; any other system would either have to be more complicated, or would have its own downsides.

For one thing, construction uses basic resources like stone and wood that are also used for a lot of other purposes. You don't want to be in a situation where all of your wood is tied up in half-finished rooms and you don't have enough to craft wands or whatever. So you want to maintain control over exactly when resources are to be used for construction, rather than just letting things be built as materials become available.

And I think a planning tool would be a noob trap for new players who don't yet understand the room system; even with the current system a lot of people who enjoy decorative building immediately start off planning how they want their school to look from a purely aesthetic standpoint, and have to do a lot of painful remodelling once they realize they need to be planning around specific construction goals for different room types. Letting new players put even more time and effort into designs that will need to be completely torn down and rebuilt once they understand what they are doing wouldn't be helpful.

I agree that the currently system works *adequately*.

I simply think that a planning system on top of the current system would work *better*.

I already rough sketch plan out my college using a spreadsheet at the start of my play throughs. Being able to do so in-game would be better.

If anyone has played Oxygen Not Included, when you hover over a room, it tells you what is in it, but most importantly, it shows what rooms it "could" be if other items were added. And also lists those items.

MoM has the Room display, and the Room Goal function that you can use to track what you need to add / change to make the selected room into a specific type.

And this is absolutely not true. And it is quite impertinent, sorry to have to say that, chap.

Because one can very easily change the game-difficulty settings, even during an active gameplay I can change difficulties all the way, the fog acceleration, the room needs (architecture) and almost everything else.

In fact, to be able to do that is one of the best features for me with this game and you will sadly find it in not many other games today.

-> Everybody is able to fit this game exactly to their needs. Slowpoke, hardcore, whatever.

So, tell us, why would we look out for another game? Wouldn't you rather agree that everybody likes his own playstyle? Or do you just like to make the choices for others?

To the topic: a planning-feature would be great. but do not forget:
In difficulty settings one can change room requirements, even to a minimum.
The devs gave us all the options and I find that just right ;-)
No pun intended.

I agree. I would love to see such a feature.

Star Paladin, would you mind explaining more why you need to check the book of rooms to that degree? Does setting a goal not work for you? Or a different issue?
I have seen "Set a goal" when I have watched replays on YouTube, but when I play, I never see the option to set those.

Open the Rooms display in the bottom right toolbar, then select the room you want to set a goal for. In the infobox for the room you should have a "set a room goal" button; click that.
Thank you Philtre, I found it. But what a round-a-bought way to get to it. I even saw it existed and could not find it. I thought maybe I was watching a video from an older build of the game, and that it was removed.

The option was disclosed to you during the tutorial, must have ignored it. It's also on the bottom right of the screen and if you did go through the tutorial, you'd know that all the view filters are located there. Room view is also bound on F1, next to pretty much every other buttons you would use, it's accessible.

The game has an inbuilt wikipedia with a search function, im guessing you missed that too, might be beneficial to take a look.

And honestly i dont know how you got into the book of rooms without accessing the Room view first. Logically it makes sense, the button is right on the room info panel that you would need to correctly build a room
