does Mage's Relic slots changed totally random or Rare change to other Rare and Elemental change to other Elemental?

you get to freely select the exact relic type you want (except for duplicates)

lets say you have a human fire mage that has as relic slots Human, Fire, Lightning
then you can change the Lightning to any relic type except for Human and Fire
if you for instance wanted a Temperance slot specificly, you can just select the Lightning slot and change it to a Temperance slot directly

(the first 2 relic slots cant be changed, they are always your species and your wand type)
