Why my apprentice doesn't want to study?
I have an apprentice, who maxed out all of the magec types, except air. This one doesn't go to the wind classroom. Is it caused by the fact that they now have 0 in air magic or not?

Reasons I can think of:

- No teacher available for air-lessons.
- "now have 0 in air magic" - what does that mean? Because if the new max air level is 0 now, there is nothing to learn.

It is my first Vitaemancer. So -1 to air was given. After that tier 3 wand gave +1 air cap. First time playing this game blind, so made this mistake by not giving wand earlier.

Air-lessons can be taught by only air mage or any mage will do?

Air magic can be taught by anyone, but higher air skill means the students will learn faster.

But even with no teacher available, students normally go to class and wait for a teacher. (Teachers won't go to class if there's no student, but students will go if there's no teacher--probably to prevent weird deadlocks where neither is going because the other isn't already there.)

My guess would be that there's something wrong with your wind classroom. Check the room type, check pathing, make sure there's some open space around the learning station.

You probably don't have this exact issue, but I recently had a weird problem where no one was teaching my initiates, and when I gave a direct order to staff to teach them, they'd accept the order, but then forget it as soon as I unpaused. I think what was happening is that I had the learning stone rotated so that the teacher's position was at the back, and I had such a crowd of initiates waiting to learn that their bodies blocked the teacher's position and the teacher couldn't reach it. I fixed the problem by rotating the learning stone so the teacher position was in the front instead.

Do they have access permission to the station? Are they scheduled for class and don't have something higher priority to do? Do they have a physical path to the teaching station? What are they doing instead of going to class? Turn down that priority. Are you sure they're an apprentice and not an initiate? Initiates can not learn at apprentice stations.

Any staff can teach for any element, but how much XP is gained per cast depends on how high their level is.

Teachers use priorities to decide whether to teach, but students don't have a priority for learning, they just go to class whenever it's scheduled.

If they have something prioritized as emergency though they will do that instead it seems.

ok, sure, if you're using emergency priority for things that are not emergencies then you should probably stop that.

They do chores. I have both geomancer and vitamancer not attending classes. They are allowed to go there the pathing is okay. Both of them have same task prio. Hell geomancer was even attending geomancy classes. But for air it just doesn't exists in the tasks. Like at all. they pyromancers attend their classes. I initialy thought that it was broom thing, but no electromancer attends classes, and they are also only accesible with broom.
Can you select them and manually tell them to go to class?

It does seem possible that learning using an apprentice station is actually set to require the magic skill in question, but I'd want to study the situation before concluding that.

If that is true...hmm. I think I know of one way to build up from zero for an apprentice: lead group projects. That ought to give 10 XP in every element skill. So you would need to do it probably 10 times to reach skill 1.

(When staff are in this position, you can get out of it by having them teach initiates, which exercises all skills even if you have zero in them.)

have the appropriate elemental advanced station? (not the room, the actual apprenticing object) because apprentices don't use the normal stone anymore but only the SEVEN elemental study objects.

They do chores. ...

When you click on the mage, what does it say they are scheduled for on the box on the left? Are they scheduled for classes?
Ah. Sry everyone. I tried a few things and figured out, that for some reason it just didn't have mark on "all apprentices".
