Accessible Mages Hermitage
Hey guys so I just thought I'd share a discovery that may or may not be new/helpful but as a new player who struggled to find advice for this issue beyond 'Lock your mage in the room and monitor them so they don't go crazy/starve' I think it would be handy.

So as we all know Mages Hermitage can't have doors or hallways to access it but I've found that you can access them via ladders!

Hope this is helpful to folk!

Ladders, stairs, or broom stations all work.

One would think that having the ability to close the door is more isolating than having non-closable hole with stairs in it, that anyone can enter at any time, but one who thinks so must be a mundane, and not a mage lol.

Brooms seem more like it, since obviousvy there must be some opening for the flyers to get in and out, and anyone with even a bit of common sence should have that opening closeable - we have it in a way of restricting access, so gameplay matches rp expectations.

The only access things ingame that have isolating quality are brooms and doors, and it is weird how one is allowed and not the other.

I think the reason there's a bunch of talk about locking mages inside is that an early access version of the game actually did require this and not everyone has updated their advice.

There was never a point on mage's hermitage. The room is there because it is a requirement for later research but again, the increase on research speed is not that much. You will end up researching everything way sooner than you think, only stopped because you need to build a specific mage's hermitage to research the very last bits of the research tree.. an idiotic mechanic, but its how it is. This game is filled with dumbhead mechanics.
