Do note that MoM lets you adjust many aspects of difficulty in the Settings, even in an ongoing game. I can't remember if there is a setting specifically for mood loss after death, but there are several options for adjusting mood in general.
Thanks for the suggestions.
I am familiar with all of them and have them all, but for Ratopia. That one I know of but shied away from because of its EA status. I also know of 'Potion Tycoon' and 'Antideluvian winds" and even bought "Painter studio" to scratch the itch. There is also 'Project Highrise', "Mad Tower Tycoon" and the upcoming "Ale Abby" that seems interesting.
Seems like similar games are hard to come by, but perhaps I overlooked some?
Most of those are crafting/tycoon games rather than colony management sims, so I guess it depends on what you are looking for? If you are interested in hands-on management-y colony management sims and you liked RimWorld and Oxygen Not Included, you could try Foundation, Founders' Fortune, Timberborn, or (if you have a high tolerance for obtuse UI) Dwarf Fortress. If you also like survival games, Medieval Dynasty is an interesting blend of colony management and survival. Personally, I would also highly recommend Clanfolk but it is in EA, which sounds like it is a dealbreaker for you.
