Having bitterrice plots should've been an asap thing to solve hungerbas the meals are cheap/fast to make. gut berries are last line of defense too against hunger not even needing to be cooked (the worst but better than starving).
Researching via a high level lightning and a "mage tower" room will give very fast researching even with "just" a rank 2 wand student upgraded to staff member... Eventually making an apprentice version.
Pay attention to the speed boosts certain rooms provide, even on easiest difficulty... Those are important to have things not drag out.
I guess relics are the worst for inpatient people because need to maximize trials and do the apprenticeship routes... Not all trials are reasonable like the group learner bronse (easy) trial or a solo battler gold (mid high difficulty).
It's "easy" to have 6 students but that's definitely NOT what should be in a school and apprentices don't use the basic teaching stone so they don't "contribute" towards that trial... Unless a retardly large room with every advanced station plus basic teaching.
A shattered absolutely cannot do a solo battle trial. One must bring a haste potion and the two dmging potions... and be a dark/earth/nature apprentice as to enable the aoe attacks... And give it enough speed and power (or tons of HP) relics to act soon enough and hit hard enough (or hope to last).
Edit: I added my own venting after the initial advice. Oops
You should not run out of wyrmweed, generally, it should be spawning to your annoyance around the start area. Research the planter for it and at least in my experience for easy/normal play two to three planters is generally sufficient to keep you overflowing unless you really are just using a metric crapton. Make sure your mages/apprentices/initiates are tending your crops if you do not already, this will make em grow much faster.
Greenhouses are absolutely something you should be building for planter based plants. I build my greenhouses in a tower that's far out enough to protect my 'have to be outside' plants like bitterrice and the rest from croa. You can stack em' like normal, just have like a space between the floor of the above greenhouse the roof below and it will still work. I generally only need like three, but you could build six plots of bitterrice. It grows quickly and isnt crazy expensive to build.
if you're having issue with conviction and happiness on easy, you really really need to be building the better quality rooms for sleeping and eating for your staff and students. Recreation time is an absolute necessity. You can then feed your school with the lower quality food recipes with minimal issue for a good long while.
That all being said, it would nice in game if we had a mechanism to get rid of excess resources in a useful manner, even if it's at some crazy ratio to do so. We are wizards or whatever after all lol. Maybe I dont need 4000 gutberries but I sure that have many a lot of the time lol. I don't even want this a cheat, though that would also be nice, I just want this for real lol. Let us Alchemy the shizz outta everything!
while staff members don't benefit from boosts, they at least don't get penalties while students stay maxed.
