Wand Softlock Help

So To summon a new student, I can ONLY use level 1 wands. But after you do a bit of research, I can now ONLY make level 2 wands.
How do you downgrade the wand station??
I've seen people mention a "Wand Transfigurator", but name-dropping this explains literally nothing. Will that let me make level 1 wands? Will that let me summon using level 2 wands?
This game desperately needs a proper wiki.

What do you mean you can only make level 2 wands. You can still produce level 1 wands when you reasearched the tech for level 2 wands. The wand transfigurator lets your students and stuff upgrade their level 1 wand to higher wands.

After researching level 2 wands, the wand shaper still has the level 1 wand recipes. Scroll down in the list of recipes to see them.

I swear on everything I hold sacred I rebooted my game 3 times last night, while I googled the problem over and over. But level 1 wands were not there... But just booted game up to see and sure enough right there, didn't even need to even scroll, was level 1 Air Wand.... Grrr... A bug maybe. Maybe cause I rebooted Steam this time? idfk... Absolutely frustrating. Thanks for the help though.

It started early. I researched the Air Tech Tree first, just setting research while I managed the school and staff to start with. But by the time I realized relics basically only came from graduating, I had level 2 Air wands unlocked. The wand maker didn't have a long list and Air wand 1 was 100% not on it anymore. I brushed it off and kept playing until I unlocked another level 2 wand (Earth) and it also completely replaced it in the wand maker. But by this time I had the recipe for level 1 wands cued in the wand maker, so I could still make level 1 Earth wands. And as I unlocked more level 2 wands replacing level 1 ones I started saving and quitting to take breaks and look online for answers. This happened for several hours until I made this thread and logged off for the night...

Also, I had just found the "Wand Transfigurator" Just before logging off, so maybe that did have something to do with it... But I feel like it was more of a bug and I should have had level 1 wands this whole time.

I think there may be bugs if you updated from an earlier version of the game. Glad it resolved itself

Maybe a bug. Wand shaper never replaced wands with next tiers, but next tiers always show up on top.
Not that I don't believe you. With many updates to game also come bugs!
Either way, I have just played a bit with the new apprentice stuff update. I don't care much for it to be honest. It is starting more and more to feel like some sort of Sims game and less like the dark-ish game I started late 2023.....
How do I even get the resource to hire new students? My teacher was about to break so decided to replace them when I found all of a sudden simply having a well-decorated ritual room is no longer sufficient.
