Lightning rod suggestion
The state of the rod now is really bad tbh. It's range is extremely small and it is a real pain to build (for some reason mages refuse to build it quite often, because they cannot see it through the roof). Not to mention it doesn't make sense to have lightning rod every few meters + the school roof looks weird because of that.

My suggestion would be firstly to adjust the model, so it reaches through the roof a little, so it can be build easily.
And secondly increase the range and the cost (or add a bigger version as more advanced research). Bigger one would have at least 2x range and can cost maybe a mana crystal so it is not overpowered.

Never had any problems with lightning rods. Range small? they cover almost an entire 8x8 room. If thats small... i dont know what to say lol.

Also, no its not a pain to build i dont know why your mages "refuse" to build it, you should check other things. And yes, your mages can "see" through the roof when they need to build these things, lihgning rods, chimmeys and whatever. As i said, you must be doing something wrong if you can't build em... are your air mages skilled enough?....... remember that you need air skill to assemble things, not earth.

Right now you only need one lightning rod per room and maybe two for bigger ones. If thats a pain a suggest you to stop playing right now lol, cuz thats the minor of your problems specially in later game lol.

The problem with lightning rods its not the thing itself, its the roof and the way the game handles placing objects on them (any object not just lightning rods). Many times you dont have any other choice that to place an object in a very step place of the roof and then, it starts causing many problems.

Im amazed the devs still didnt fix this, but again, as many things.... i guess its better to invest the time removing game mechanics and extending unnecessary the gameplay time without even adding proper end-game content.

The rod has always had coverage that felt unexpectedly small (to me).
The difference is that now you can see what it covers.

The thing is, Iam not doing anything "wrong". They are standing literally next to the thing with only roof in between them and the rod, and when I right click it it says "unreacheable for the spell", higher skill has no effect. They only way to build it is to remove a few part of the roof, and then they can do it. It does the same with just moving it and trying to enlarge it at place. I am building it on sloped roof, so maybe that is the issue, but tbh almost all roofs I have are sloped.
And it's pain, because I can't simply build it with minimal effort like everything else (because of the bug), not because you need a lot of them.
And my main problem is - it just looks dumb having a lightning rod on every room, it doesn't make sense + they are huge things sticking there like a sore thumb. Your school looks like a power plant pretty fast.

Erm, it does perfect sense. Its how lightning rods should work. In real life yo uhave several antennas in each building. Why people keep complaining about some things escapes me. A lightning rod per room is perfectly fine, i seriously dont get you guys.

And if the game is telling you that is unreachable, and you built a starcase high enough to be able to reach it, then its a bug. You should report it on discord.

They can build the lightning rod through the roof, and the shape of the roof is irrelevant. If you are getting a message about "unreachable", and they can path to a point directly under the blueprint, it's just too far up for them to reach; build a small section of spiral stair directly under the blueprint to bring them in range, and once the lightning rod is complete, deconstruct the stair.

which is exactly what I did. It seems the game does not consider the rod to be on the roof, because it kinda floats in the air, touching the roof only barely if it's a 45° angle. Probly an oversight more than a bug, but will report it anyway.

Multiple antennas...sure... but those are not lightning rods.... do you have any idea how that thing works? Basically all you need is ONE for several buildings in semi-close proximity if it is placed high enough. But w/e. Enjoy your 20 ligthning rods if you like, obviously you do not care about visuals in this game at all and are just salty to people who do. It's just a suggestion geez.
