Level Stat Growth

Is there a more detailed explanation about how it works? I have two Shattered with different stat growths. The description in the announcement seems to indicate stat growth is due to "faction" (which I assume to mean race), but are there other things that also impact stat growth? Like wand type?

Growth is based off how good the Mage is in that skill. There is Letter S, A, B, C, D and F next to each stat which determines how good they are. Each Mage seems to be randomly assigned stats so overall if you want good mage stats look for S and A rank for the important stat and you'll know it's worth training up that mage.

For starter stats it seems to have a set number of points that can be applied to all the stats. It seems to randomly apply them then adjust for race. It looks like you can only get A or S if there is a racial bonus. Fluffemz have higher power and speed. Hoominz have high mana. Undead abominations have high health.
