Please Balance Food Recipes.
Let's do math. Honey Stir-fry takes 2 bitterrice and 4 honeydrop for 1 meal. If you have 10 people and they eat 2 times a day, it takes 20 bitterrice and 80 honeydrop a day to have them eat that meal. That's way too much. I don't think any recipe should use over 1 of any ingredient to make but that's just me.

Thank you.

It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to grow bitter-rice outside, and if I had quilted helpers to tend and harvest for me. As it is I have so many planters for all the plants I need and my staff do nothing else but tend and harvest.

I understand gardening helpers are coming though, so that's a good something!

Maybe the planters should grow slower but give you alot more harvest so you don't have to tend them soo much.

That would work, but you'd need to plan ahead, otherwise you're going to get some cashflow/foodflow issues with people going hungry while you wait.

First of all, I plant bitterrice as early in the game as I can, but don't start the bitter gruel yet. At this stage the mages are fine on gutberries (or rats for wolfies) Save up rice for when conviction starts to matter more.
Second, I recently started to turn off both honey recipes for everyone at the start of the game. Students get these meals as trials so I save them for that. As said, the resources are just too high to have everyone eat them.
It's a lot easier to create a mess hall for students and a private dining room for staff to have your mages gain conviction while eating. At this point there should also be a dorm for students and bedrooms for staff.
You can easily feed your staff bitter stir-fry and your students bitter gruel this way.
I make one 'very hungry' group for eating schedule (the only status this will work with) and then I make a group 'very hungry staff' and allow all the meals so that any negative conviction from being very hungry can be negated by eating higher quality food, if in storage.
Students generally don't stick around long enough to care too much about their conviction. When there is a student I do want to keep happy, they can get their own private plan.

I do almost the exact same thing. The question is, did the devs waste their time adding and creating the better foods if nobody is going to use them? They are just too costly.

Well, so far I have only gotten to tier 3 students during one playthrough. They are much harder to keep happy as higher magic ability comes with a debuff. At which point higher quality food does become more relevant.
Also with more conviction from food (and other stuff) there is little need for actual recreation. The -10 conviction is little problem when you get say +50 conviction from different sources.
