Do you want food restocked at night? Get your fire mge on nights.
Need sporeshroom, or any other harvest at night? Keep your nature mages up at night.
Keep the staff that gains conviction from teaching during the day and your learning students too.
You can make a group for fully trained. This will put your students about to graduate or be hired to get into one group.
I couldn't tell you right now if there are any good sorting ways to set up a favourable schedule. Just try to be creative with the rules. You can add multiple rules to one group.
I conceded to add staff by hand. Haven't gotten to the amount of students yet where I feel the need to keep some of them on the night shift.
In late game your mages wont need to sleep that much (you are supossed to have already better beds) so you can take advantaje of that.
But yeah, you don't really need a full nightshift, you can have a staggered schedule where some mages go to bed late to do some moonlight harvesting, and have others get up earlier to get some of that moonlight. And then it might be easier to find a way to assign groups to those schedules.
but sounds like i shouldn't worry till i have a second staff of each element... that doesn't help the issue as it'll only be more necessary at that point so i don't have a flood of bedrooms.
I have 2 schedules for my staff because I want to share bedrooms and also because tasks.
Some plants require harvest at night, and runewood requires nature skill 4 to harvest so I try and get a shattered tier 2 and have it awake during moonlight.
House commons can have all the beds so students don't need seperate schedules.
Earth mage is up during sunlight in case students want to go into combat and need the tank.
Staff that gains bonus with teaching stay up during sunlight.
Also keep in mind that higher tier mages also get higher skill in other magics which with a good bit of luck can give you a mage with 4 skill points in a secondary skill. So lets say you summon a tier 2 fire student and (with a trial) it ccould get to nature 4 and help planting the higher tier crop. Or get a skilled researcher who harnesses the power of dark in combat.
Oh and also gifted students need lightning skill 3 to summon. You don't need mages with lightning wands for that, only the skill points.
