From the looks of things so far, you can only summon up to 13 students. I have an 8 student dormitory and that already takes up a heap of space. Combine that with a mess hall, a large intermediate class room, and all the staff rooms, and my school is already starting to take a whole hour just to go from the top to the bottom. Work definitely needs to go into the logistics, and the devs need to make up their minds as to what they want this game to be. Having all the room requirments (especially lofted) that DEMAND a lot of space be taken up just makes things needlessly more complicated for what amounts to a very small payoff.
I would ofc also accept some kind of teleporter device, that allows them to instantly move between them. Even if it's so expensive that you don't spam them all along once you unlocked the tech, it would have the potential of really smoothing up the logistics.
My ideas of an elevator and a floor upgrade that makes the students/staff walk faster would most likely soften the issuses. Still I agree with both of you, that the devs should also think about a more long time solution for logistics in bigger academies.
Maybe take a look at the Common Hall (or whatever it's called), which merges all your student living-space needs into one room (beds, dining, recreation), and with a clever layout you can keep it fairly compact. It's in the Room Types menu under Rec Rooms, IIRC.
Yeah... There's no way I'm building an ELEVATED one of those in the early/mid game.
It also doesn't solve the problem. With more students, you need more staff, and staff need their own rooms too. Simply put, the game doesn't support large schools. You can accomplish just as much with minimal staff and four students as you can a full academy, and I think that's a real problem.
Here's how I made mine, it's only lacking the larger windows to qualify as a house common (the upgraded version):

And in regards to limited rooms for staff, I suggest splitting ones staff between day and night shifts. Just make sure beds and stuff have auto-assign turned off, assigned to any, and allow all staff. That way you get twice the staff comparatively to the number of rooms required. Also, since they do fine with just 6 hours of sleep you can technically split the day up into 4 shifts, making the room to staff requirements as low as 1:4, but I haven't felt a need to go that far myself.
Erm, not even close. You can play with minimal staff (4) but you are not going to acomplish much. Everything is going to be even slower than it is, and you are going to need 10x times to do anything. Im sure in time you are goin to get tired of how slow things are going.
