Trap door vines disappearing
I finally got to the point where I can get trap door vines. But I think this needs to reworked or made better. They spawn so close to my fog that by the time they are grown, the fog has taken them over and they are gone for good. I put the fog aegis beside the fog to keep it at bay but that isn't working there and it does have a full charge. I have played 5 in game days and I can't seem to harvest a trap door vine and it takes 3 days for them to mature. When I first researched it, there was only 1 trap door vine that was mature but I didn't get to it in time and the fog took it over and it disappeared.

If anything, please change it to where they wont disappear once the fog expands.

Yup without any way to harvest em but using mages, its a pretty tedious and sometimes impossible task. I managed to harvest two in maybe two weeks game time.

The duration of the ageis depends on the fog range; when the fog is pushed back to max they last for less than a day (0.7 days, IIRC). In theory, you could hold back the fog with just one ageis as long as you micromanage a mage (preferably the Founders's Ghost, since they don't run out of mana) to keep it continuously charged.

However, the ageis effects stack, so a much more hands-off method is to place multiple ageises to hold it back longer. Just make sure you have them set to highest priority, and have multiple mages with Ward set to very high priority to make sure they get recharged ASAP.

I got 3 and I had to micromanage, I really think this needs to be reworked. The are other things that do not disappear when the fog rolls in.

Just to add: if you push the fog and you find that all the vines are far back towards the end of the map, you can just let the fog cover the red biome, then push it back again and see if they spawn in more favorable locations. If you push the fog to max (for example, Level 3 Superior Repel with 5 tier 2 mages when the fog is about halfway in), on Relaxed you have well more than the few days it takes to mature to collect a vine that spawns towards the inner edge or middle of the biome.

So fog management is mainly a problem on Relentless, and even then, with a max push you should be able to collect vines near the inner edge of the biome without too much trouble.
