How to keep Traumas from happening?
I've got a student that had 4 death saves, never been into battle and he has had 3 traumas in his short lifespan. One of them is bruised ego. Really?!LOL..

How do we help these guys from getting traumas? I was going to hire him but now he has only 1 death save left and I worked hard to get all his medallions.

Don't let their conviction collapse, then.

There's a variety of things that might be making your students miserable, but my top guess would be simply staying students too long while not achieving anything, while on the harder difficulty.

Recreation mostly. Put more recreation hours in the schedule. Two recreation hours in a row will grant that all of your mages are filled. Keep in mind, if you only use one hour and someone is busy he probably wont make it to the recreation room. Also dont overcharge work on your mages. The more task they need to perform, the fastest the conviction bar is going to drain. Also i assume you know the basics of the game and you already have at least an austere room to boost a little bit conviction and such. Also some specific meals increase conviction as well. Dining room, mesh hall, etc. There are many things in the game to boost conviction. I dont have mages with traumas anymore due to low conviction. Students will need to do something after they are fully trained to keep it up, going into combat is one of them, or performing rituals but if they do nothing but training eventually they will break.

Thanks for the responses, I realized that the purposeless learning is a pain. I was letting them get trained then working on their medals only to realize I was shooting myself in the foot. I also have the faster training rooms. I saw someone mention that training them slower is actually a positive thing.

Purposeless definitely sinks the students, think it gave -35 buff if it hits rock bottom. But having them learn one skill or unlock one medal resets it fully, So if I have a student that I know is gonna take a long time to finish training / get to the ritual work I need it for or whatever, I hold off letting it finish some of the easy to do medals, just to use them when their conviction starts to get dangerously low again. Also, while a bit of a task, building the highest level student recreation room effectively negates the purposeless trait allowing you to keep them as long as you need
