Once you get the Quilted Choppers, there's no real issue with wood, meaning the only things you really need to roam for is new seeds and Siltstone. And Siltstone is pretty much solved by a beast.
Just think of those long treks as prerequisites for seeds, not something you should be doing to actually gather resources.
Seriously, runewood? Planter. Fungal mold? You barely need it, planter. Trapdoor Vines? You better cherish those seeds because their spawn rate is messed up, please put them in a planter. Normal stone and Iron? They spawn close, let the quilted miners handle it, and the dungeon starts handing out truly ridiculous quantities of those soon enough. Sporeshrooms? The worst thing to gather in the game, please put them in a planter.
I have 3/7 specific classrooms completed, the entire research tree done, and I basically stopped only because there's nothing else to do. And you do not need to venture far out virtually ever.
I wonder if you actually read the posts before you answer, ive seen you do this in other threads and its pretty annoying. Im not saying you CANT farrm. Im saying ITS SLOW. I dont know how to put this so you can understand.
And sadly this is one of the things that is annoying me to the point that im already getting tired of the game. I guess i will give the game another year to see if it improves in this matter.
You may want to fiddle with the storage boxes' contents and priority settings, because the Quilted, in my experience, seem to prefer supply tasks, and if you have a lot of gardens and/or crafting stations, they won't be walking very far.
I do agree that a teleporter should be in the game though, and imagine that it will be implemented at some point during the early access period.
You can build sleeping bedchamber and dedicate the guy for living there and chopping
Just keep eye out for the fog.
