Is there a teleporter or something for later game to gather resources??
Im wondering. Im a point where my guys need to walk huge distances to gather any resource. By the time they go and back, almost a whole day has passed. And i need to gather resources that are spawn far far far far away to keep repeling the fog and whatnot. I presume there must be something to improve this, like a teleporter, more speed or something? what im missing?. Because if this is the way it is... well.. time to wait for improvements.

You only need to gather for the initial resources, to get seeds. Once you have seeds you can create planters that let you regrow resources indefinitely.

Once you get the Quilted Choppers, there's no real issue with wood, meaning the only things you really need to roam for is new seeds and Siltstone. And Siltstone is pretty much solved by a beast.

Just think of those long treks as prerequisites for seeds, not something you should be doing to actually gather resources.

Im not talking about seeds, wood or other "basic" resources. Im talking about the advanced ones you need to build and craft advanced structures and because in higher levels and with more staff the requirements for repelling the fog are bigger and more advanced. These resources will only spawn far far away, and even with qilters (cant remember how those things are called) it takes just too much time to gather a couple of resources when you need twenty times that amount for anything.

Trust me, I've reached endgame, there's no resources out there that aren't farmable. The only one close is Siltstone, and I just have my red pig make it.

Seriously, runewood? Planter. Fungal mold? You barely need it, planter. Trapdoor Vines? You better cherish those seeds because their spawn rate is messed up, please put them in a planter. Normal stone and Iron? They spawn close, let the quilted miners handle it, and the dungeon starts handing out truly ridiculous quantities of those soon enough. Sporeshrooms? The worst thing to gather in the game, please put them in a planter.

I have 3/7 specific classrooms completed, the entire research tree done, and I basically stopped only because there's nothing else to do. And you do not need to venture far out virtually ever.

I wonder if you actually read the posts before you answer, ive seen you do this in other threads and its pretty annoying. Im not saying you CANT farrm. Im saying ITS SLOW. I dont know how to put this so you can understand.

And sadly this is one of the things that is annoying me to the point that im already getting tired of the game. I guess i will give the game another year to see if it improves in this matter.

But it's much faster than running people all the way out there to gather resources?

I haven't seen a teleporter, so I havne't been able to fully solve this problem, but my stop-gap solution has been to set characters' Haul priority to low, and I have a small army of Quilted Carriers running at all times. This keeps the characters closer to the school to do their tasks and teaching and lets the Quilted take care of the hiking. You'll need a *lot* of them though.

You may want to fiddle with the storage boxes' contents and priority settings, because the Quilted, in my experience, seem to prefer supply tasks, and if you have a lot of gardens and/or crafting stations, they won't be walking very far.

I'm curious... how many teachers, students, and quilted do you have? Can you post the numbers?

I agree with OP with this one - yeah, you could create farms to gain resources. And I myself like this. But I think everyone is different and for someone farm-based gameplay is less interesting and they would preffer to focus on "raw-gathering" and so having some kind of teleportation would be cool. Not that it MUST needed feature, but I hope we would see something like this implemented in future, both it case of teleportation "into the woods" and out of it, so you could focus on this type of exploration-gathering, but also in case of "in school"-teleporting, because... comeon, this is magic school, are we really need to go everywere by foot? (I know that, well, in most popular Magic School teleportation was prohibited, but still... atleast they has moving starcases :D )

Resource gathering from afar and bringing back to 'home' to start a farm etc is normal in these types of games. Don't starve did it. ONI did it.

I do agree that a teleporter should be in the game though, and imagine that it will be implemented at some point during the early access period.

Instead of teleporter put an outpost with mana lantern there.

You can build sleeping bedchamber and dedicate the guy for living there and chopping
Just keep eye out for the fog.
