If you are familiar with launching an app from the command line, then you can use the same command line options listed in the Steam custom resolution answer: "-screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080". If you're not able to launch from the command line and are using Windows, then you should be able to follow these steps to set up a short cut with the above resolution options:
