You are wrong. There are factory standards, and every gun has a different one. I am wondered that you even hit something without knowing the standards.
Just click 'slash' it will set the weapon back to factory standard and show you the actual standard.
Since I found out how to adjust properly, I want to share how to do it.
Let's say your factory standard is 3.7 at 140 yards. All you do is to divide 150 yards by 3.7 moa, so you find out how much 1 yards is. In this case it would be 1 yards = 0.02642857.
If you have an animal at let's say 600 yards distance, you have to multiply 600 yards with 0.02642857. This is 15.857142. So all you have to do is, to set your moa to 15.8 ish.
SHORT: 3.7 = 140
1 = 0.02642857
0.02642857 x 600 = 15.857142
A: 15.85 = correct adjustment / moa
