No chat?
What was the reason for not implementing ingame chat? What one supposed to do if there is need to explain that if everyone defends base then canisters won't magically grow legs and arrive themselves?

There is in-game voice chat...

You have team and proximity chat.

There is no text chat. By 2023 this should be default for coop games.

I'd prefer there was no text-chat. Just learn to use a mic like a normal person. Weirdo.

Well, A LOT of games are starting to move away from in-game text chat.
Because by 2023 you can get a $10 headset and is just more of the standard now.

Though I agree its a bit crazy not to have in-game text chat because its not exactly hard to code something like that it just can run into its own set of problems and not really necessary anymore.

And for peoples like me who can write in english well but are unable to voice it correctly ? You know, non-native english speakers ... I can talk, but if nobody understand what the ♥♥♥♥ I say, well ...

I prefer a tchat, seriously or a tactical menu with voiced lines to send with some keys. But something that doesn't require that I have to talk in english and give any english language enjoyer a wish to murder me brutally.

Normally I'd agree, text chat should be a thing by default, but this isn't the kind of game where people should feel enabled to stop dead in their tracks for 20 seconds to type out a message. That'd get them killed and endanger the rest.
That people actually use their mics in this game is a blessing. Haven't experienced that in years.

This kind of game? Which one? Coop shooter? Vermintide got it, left4dead got it, deep rock galactic got it.

People here use their mics to squeak, make weird noises or tell lines from film. Thanks, I don't want this "blessing".

All of those games also only have 3 other players other than yourself and for any of the harder modes it is VERY common to get vote kicked or removed if you do not have a mic.....

It's not common at all, what are you talking about. On legend (hardest non-DLC) it is always silent. Same at Haz 5 (aside from rock'n'stone to the bone).

This game would be ♥♥♥♥ if it didn't have voice chat. Quiet lobbies are boring as ♥♥♥♥ and the worst.

Not everyone finds reddit quote farming amusing or funny. I would rather have quiet lobbies.

T for teamchat Y for proximity chat, talking dosnt hurt you or anyone, youll find that when you chat people are nice.

Right now you can only join pub matches anyhow, so don't expect much teamwork in most games. When you can set up local and/or dedicated servers with people that actually care about playing the game and not just screaming obscenities and racial remarks all game, using headphones will be fine.

Written chat can be good too for certain instances but right now with 16 people in a pub room it would be a mess.
