“#Helldivers2 finally launched,” Pilestedt said on Twitter, “7 years, 11 months and 26 days of my life spent on making a game that truly devolves into a farce of my favorite movies and books from my upbringing.” Assuming that he’s counting back from the game’s release on February 8, that means Helldivers 2 started development on February 13, 2016. That’s only about two months after the studio ported Helldivers 1 to PC, being the first Sony-published game to do so.

I simply don't get this debate. Both games are great. Like not just good, but great.

HD2 has considerably more polish of course, but I think the larger game size is going to be a huge factor in which game becomes better over the long run. And let's not mention that you can't actually (*&%&ing PLAY Helldivers right now because of the ongoing server ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

True, I have no problem with HD2 and will certainly give it a go at some point. It looks great, bar the issues on release. They're both indie studios. HD2 has a smaller team actually. You can confirm this through basic googling.

Yeah, Playstation Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment looks like they're small indie publishers...
