Bugs prefer you or other mates more than a decoy if you´re to close.
RL got nerfed in EA.
GL is fine still after the nerf, the range is increased with the Prosthetic Servos perk (which is a must have for a Demo anyway), and I reliably kill the gunners in one hit. It has a very small blast radius, so you just need to aim right at the target. GL is also better in killing Grenadiers than even the heavy sniper rifle, they have the same damage but the GL has much higher rate of fire
The changes are pretty obvious
I didn't play the Demo after the latest update so can't say if something was changed after the update
Lure grenade works well, but if the insect already has a target it will hardly change it, even if you shoot them, when they are not alert if you shoot them you will be the target, but if they have a target they will very rarely change it.
They work correctly if you use them in areas far from other objectives.
As for the rocket launcher, every explosive weapon has additional damage with the demolisher, thanks to its passive.
The "prosthetic arm" (perk) increases the range of any throwable object, including the grenade launcher, (rare but true.)
They all get bitten for using flamethrowers off base but no one uses gas grenades to slow them down or electric shock beacons to paralyze them.
"On your feet" (perk), almost no one uses it but you can revive anyone you want from a great distance, for free even through structures and mountains of corpses, save your stims.
If you don't empty your mag, you can reload faster.
etc, etc.
Maybe the 1.1 decoy is closer to the truth, so we'll just have to adapt to it.
Also, as StarsheepTrooper said
They're very erratic for me, either they don't attract any bugs and each one comes straight at me (I had this happen when I was playing the Demo on Boreas and thought something was wrong, almost no bugs were attracted to my decoys in that game), or they'll make a sharp turn and throw a grenade right at my nose.
It happens all the time, sometimes the bait grenades work, sometimes they don't.
