Hows the game status now?
When it came to EA it was fun and very promising game. Had "emotion" to it.. then reworks came (engine change?) and it ran so horribly i decided to wait while longer.. its been ages now soo.. is it working? Fun? Enjoyable again?

Maybe 30-40% or so matches are fine IMHO. In EA I would say 60-70% were good.

Rest are not because either players mess up (stay in base, waste tickets, not going after hive/patrols, engineers not repairing etc. etc.)

...and/or the game just throws too much on you to handle (general game bugs, ore/gas too far away, bugged patrols, hive 900m away - often same time as several other patrols far away etc.) making the broken spawn system raise infestation too fast and trigger the endless horde too early.

As the endless horde is truly massive compared to EA the game in most cases will then become boring and unwinnable with everyone pinned at a fire-engulfed base chasing gun XP. Rarely can a hero medic with bug repellant perk bring the last canisters in but usually tickets run out before that as everyone just give up.

In EA without tickets it was possible to turn around a match that had a bad start (due to any of the above reasons), not so anymore.

But as someone said, when the game shines it (still) really shines.

Adding console players was a double edged sword. Player count was nearing nothing on Steam, but console players are terrible in every game.

You can disable crossplay if you want in the options menu, but of course, that will increase wait times since it reduces the number of available players.

I don't care whether I win or lose. I've already got everything, and the game, beyond a "win" or "loss" message, doesn't punish you; you can still level up at practically the same speed.

It only inspires the "honor" of being able to say "I won," but nothing changes between losing and winning.

Without the rush to 1.0 to release on consoles the game would have ended up another dead and abandoned early access game.

Daytime players are pretty terrible, evening is a mixed bag, but if you play late night it's mostly skilled players.

Its dead anyways.

And I personally have played way less since 1.0 than i did pre release. In fact i am pretty much done with the game at this point. i doubt i have even 5 more hours to give. Grinding the guns is not fun. I was chasing the achievements, but i absolutely dont have another prestige rank up in me. And with the endless horde glitch going on 6 months, its just pointless and not fun anymore.

Understandable, I have to take extended breaks from the game time and again or else I get majorly burned out. It's definitely a few games here and there depending on the active mutators type of game.

I still occasionally play some PC only multiplayer games with fewer active daily players, this game isn't quite dead yet when you can still find a game practically 24/7.
Bugs lag everywhere, ore can replacing melee bug still annoying, waiting times for matches really sucks sometimes, noobs not doing their part and throwing matches, bugged awareness levels reach max SO FAST...

Its still a buggy bug game. Some matches are great though.

Managed to defend in ARC mission against the maxed alert horde for over an hour and still get gas and win the game. THAT was match of the year for me and its those few times the game comes together that makes me keep playing

If you happen to be playing w/ the right group of gamers, it's really Fun but it's not the same anymore a year or so ago before Crossplay...:)

I jump on every now and then but I still haven't felt that spark like when this game was released. I fired it up the other day when I installed my new video card. I just don't have a reason to keep playing nothing new or fun. Even before the GPU swap they had gotten the game to run better but with some same issues and bugs plaguing this game since the start. Console player don't tend to care about team work IMO and even if you disable cross play you may never get into a match. I will keep checking in on the progress.

i usually only play one or 2 games a night it can be hit and miss just now vetrean hard with 2 modifiers arc resupply mission thought i was going to lose it but the team was Magnificat with a good mix of engys, medics and demos with squads doing the side missions to hold down the infection rate, we even had a team holding down key crossing points to not only protect ore/gass runners but to also take out bug patrols. man it was great when you come together as a team

That's because the majority playing are on either on Xbox or PS...so disabling Crossplay will sometimes if not all the time takes a looooooonnnggg aaaasss wait to find a game, sadly.

Its not a bug to have Ore far away..... Its a bug to try to cooperate as a TEAM :-D I really dont understand whats so hard to go as team for one mining mission, 2engineers could pick 4 canisters, rest of the team is defending them traveling back :-D Such a simple task, engis could support with ammo, medic with stimpacks..... Such a simple task, always goes to fail by anarchy :-)
Game is more stable and runs better, but plenty of day 1 bugs remain. Also, player base can be pretty dumb. Toss up if it's overall better. I think it should still be in early access.

Also servers can be hit and miss. They just posted that servers are having issues right now

I used to play the squad troopers but guess i will not buy this. Owi fumbled squad now they fumbled this and ww1 shooter
Jesus...dont be divas guys. I have no problem with the console players.

The game is a lot of fun and have improved since EA. The hills of bug corpses and the improved sound design is amazing. When you hear shooting in the distance and weapon sounds are realy nice. Im still coming back to shoot bugs. I can not say that about helldivers 2
