Is the game worth it?
I am a big starship troopers fan and i was looking into this game for awhile now. I've seen a lot of videos of the game and it really looks fun, but when i look at the reviews i see people saying that the game is unplayable, too buggy (No pun intended), and also for some reason sometimes rude moderators or devs, so is the game really worth buying or should i just reconsider...?

The latest update has been a major step in the right direction, improved performance, staged reloads, certain old annoying bugs have been fixed, and to my surprise the dynamic weather is actually really nice. But this has been one good update after a long history of really buggy ones so unfortunately it's hard to say if things will keep improving or might fallback into constant crashing and server lag.

Outside of the performance and balance issues the game is honestly very fun but the only real concern is that the playerbase is tiny on PC and mostly made up of console players at the moment. Meaning lots of casual players that don't/can't work as a team. The game is definitely on the easier side compared to other PVE FPS but the lack of coordination and game sense can make it far more difficult than it really is.

I'd recommend getting it during the Steam Summer Sale, it'll be enough time after update 1.4 (mid-May) to pass that everyone will make their opinion known on it here in the forums and for any needed fixes or improvements. I do not recommend buying at full price as there is still not enough content to justify the price at the current time.
UE5 was the death nail in this game. Not even Casper helping promote this game could save it. IT should of stayed in early access at least another year to work on performance. Everybody told them, and they didn't listen. I can run the game amazingly now, but thats because i have the newest hardware on my pc. Mid range pc will not run this game well at all. I'm surprised it was released on console in this state. I doubt we will ever see a rise in player count again. Unless they have some magic 2.0 update down the line that fixes performance and adds a bunch of new content, and at the same time something bad goes down with Helldivers again.

In that case, it's worth it.

The game is not perfect, but it brings the vibes.

Most of them complaining are massive bunch of lowlifes lives in the basement with a 10 years old pc

Just ignore those reviews and look at legit players like me ; I had fun with it 110 hours and still having fun with it

I think this is the only one on the market with 16 players coop PVE slaughtering hordes of bugs ?

Game is dead. I tried played several times now and I'm stuck at finding match with my friends.
Paying 50usd for a game like this is not recommended. Wait until is done, if ever, and see if there is a price drop. Game is unplayable at this point.

Do you have crossplay turned on? What mode and difficulty are you queuing for?

Finding a game of Hard isn't much of an issue at the current time. Assuming you have crossplay on and are not trying to play from the company ops playlist as those are guaranteed long waiting times.

As an st fan, I'm ready to buy and try the game, with a 70percent discount. I like the concept, but there's no way I'm going to buy a game with such stories about bugs and dead online for the full price. Developers need to understand that a damaged reputation will never attract new players, and without them, the game has no future. Make big discounts and fix optimizations quickly.
Best you're gonna get is around 60% off. Online isn't dead, that's just rhetoric pushed by a pc superiority complex. Steam numbers are low, but there's no way of telling what the console player count is. Also to your last point, I'd like to remind you of the absolutely horrid launches of both No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk 2077, and their post-update success. It can happen, the devs just need to fix the game before adding new content. Unfortunately that's counter-intuitive to the live service model.

The game's fine. It's fun enough.

Just don't play it 4 hours per day or you're going to get tired of it fast cause yes, it is repetitive. But once in a while it's great.

I never wait for more than 2 minutes for a game.

Don't know how much players there is but here you go. (pc, europe)

Now that i think of it, it's pretty funny that it's quicker to find a game in Starship Trooper than it is in Dead by Daylight, which is massively more popular.

If your Hardware can Run this game then you'll enjoy it, at least in the beginning as it is Repetitive as mentioned above.

And if you're Lucky enough to be in the game where gamers talk & help each other then that's a Bonus. Have Fun !
Yes.

It is like Killing Floor 2, but in Starship trooper skin and you need to build your own base at times or do mini quests. All the classes are great, but does not take as long to unlock stuff for as KF series.

Tech wise the amount of dead alien bodies, that they stack and eventually other aliens can climb over the bodies and reach the top of a wall and get over is pretty cool to see.

In turn, because of this, you need a good PC to run this game without issues. I currently have and in turn never drop under 60fps on Epic at 1440p, which is kinda amazing. In this game hordes are huge, the bodies stay around until you manually remove them (melee, explosives etc) so I understand why some people complain that the game loses fps towards the end.
