How active is the playerbase?

Yo so I'm very intrested in this game, thinking of buying it but the amount of concurrent players on steam looks sad, which is quite a turnoff tbh. So is the game still active enough?

Depends.

If you're looking to get instant matchmaking at 4 in the morning, you're out of luck.

If you don't mind waiting 2-4 minutes for a match (depending on the region and day time), it's pretty active.

That said, the servers are currently ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ themselves and people are rubber banding all over the place. Personally, I'd wait a bit.

It's got enough players so you don't really notice delays unless it's 4am and even then I always seem to find lobbies.

The best part about this co-op is that there is very little interaction if any outside of game play so yo don't have to deal with the toxic culture much at all. And gameplay is oriented heavily toward toward teamwork so unless someone is really out to screw up the session it's pretty low maintenance and I think that maintains a steady flow of players.

Also Sony and other cross platfrom's are on the horizon I believe so that will explode the population. I don't think you need to worry.

No problem finding a Full 16 Squad @ Central Servers during the day then East Servers @ night. Hoorah !

I play on east and haven't waited much more than 1.5-2 minutes for a game. I just got it too, no regrets so far.

There was a period of low numbers because people were waiting for a new patch and a rework of the classes. Now that's done you can get a team no problems, obviously late at night / early hours may be more difficult for reasons which make sense.

I've played this game from the start and not had trouble finding a team.

Jump in and give it a try, it's good fun and it takes a while to figure out each class and it's role along with your role.

Normally I say stay away from Mixed review games but this game is getting better now, still some issues and bugs with the game but overall you should have fun if it's a game for you.

I would wait, I took a break n came back to check out the new update but I've yet to get the game to boot up a single time. Re installed/repaired like 30 times, its Kaput for me at least.

As someone who has recently sunk 100 hours, I would wait. I normally use quick play and get matched up with 60% of the same people each time. I would often even get paired up with a lot of international players too. If there's a particular troublemaker or group of them, there's a good chance you'll be stuck with them in your next game.

It feels like there's only 2-3 groups of 16 players who are playing in a given time.

in australia its a few mins for a match. 1-3 minutes and im usually in a game

you can always get a game. its starship troopers .its a cult classic if you liked the film and book then this is a deffo . ok its still not perfect but the devs are constantly improving and with a cult classic title this game is not going to die its only going to grow. and so will the price with it . its already a good game. as it stands now .ps i live off grid in remote spanish mountains and have the worst internet possible and never waited more than 2mins for a match ??

Don't buy / support the game in its current state.
They have yet to address optimization which makes it really un-fun.
