The extended magazines modification actually decreased mags you can carry?
Like the Sniper rifle you can carry 4 mags on default but with the extended magazine you can only carry 3 mags.

It's same with the shotguns and some other weapons.

Why the fast reload is sometimes a better option.
But my self i like to stay close to any ammo dump and hoard that like a ..........

They only decrease your mags because your mag holds more. It should to also extend the overall capacity though it seems that has been removed. Quick exchange or standard mag are both good options. I do like extended mag as it seems most enemies are balanced around that.

I usually use extended mag with extra mags if the class has that perk.

It's a bit misleading but at the same time it's not.

Although it says the mag can carry more ammunition
It doesn't mean you'll have more ammunition, it's just the size of the mag.
i mean if your total ammo is 1000, and your mag now can carry 50% more ammo, your total ammo is still 1000.

Yeah.

It's still using the tool tip from when it was a perk. It has not updated to say that it reduces your mags by 1

I don't like how quick load mags have less magazines, that's not how magazines work. Let's say IRL I do the paracord and speed tape trick on my AR magazines, that doesn't magically reduce capacity. It's a stupid gameplay decision for "balance" and should be reworked to having no negative side effects. It's like games that make having a suppressor have the gun be less accurate. Only way that's going to happen is if the person who installed said suppressor is a moron and you're getting baffle strikes.

Yeah.
Problem is that you carry 10% less ammo with the Quick mag modification.

Stein is referring to extended mags, not quick mag

What I mean is that the quick mags actually decrease the maximum ammo you carry so that the extended mags should increase the maximum ammo you can carry.

With the lack of ammo fabricators or ammo in general now. We really need to carry more ammo by default. The low ammo made sense prior as ammo fabs were very common. Now, we simply run out to quickly without a steady resupply nearby.

there is like 2 classes where you run out of ammo with common ranger and Guardian. Snipers you can go for resupply and also with how they have worked targetting your more liekly to die with ammo on you then you running out of ammo as a sniper,

if you want ammo play engineer it is quite fun and rewarding also the flamer thrower is a funny tool to watch as the royal guardian and tiger does the fireman dance, but ammo problem are minnial issue. if you run out of ammo use your knife. as a guardian or ranger it works suprisingly well.

The problem being, its a team game, where the devs forced the engineer to cover all ammo needs outside the base. When its a very underused class in general. Making it rather rare to see ammo fabs at all in most matches.

The Extended Magazines reduces total ammunition by 25%, as with the Flamethrower/Shotgun versions of Extended Magazines. The total ammo increase comes out to about 10% more total ammo if I was right in my math.

The Engineer doesn't necessarily need ammo fabricators, since they can put out 40 refills, enough to restore all the ammo and utilities of an entire lobby 2 times over, in a single ability use. The real problem is that whenever an Engineer does use their ability, they don't put down 2 ammo crates for everyone to reload at, but rather a turret and ammo for said turret instead, leaving no ability ore for the ammo. I also believe that having the Engineer as the only field resupply soldier is good since it gives it a distinct but equally important niche from the Medic, at least if the mindset of Engineers, myself included, can shift away from putting down turrets and ammo for turrets and towards putting down ammo crates for resupplies.

On the other hand, I agree that some guns really need an increase in base maximum ammo, namely the regular shotgun and other non-rifle weapons. The base Morita felt to me like it was doing well enough, even without Magazine Bandolier, but the other weapons kinda feel like they need Magazine Bandolier to be useful.
