I'm not sure about that because a lot of Troopers uses it including me instead of the Grenade Launcher ( Operator/Medic ) which is really only great at the base for defense.

the morita carbine is suppose to be used no longer then short range medium range is questionable long range your going to start eating up clips before something dies and what i mean is something bigger then drone bug size
I tried it and reverted to the stabdard rifle.

Cute but wrong. Carbine is an outright full on upgrade to the regular Morita. Stagger is infinitely more important a stat that a tiny bit more damage and range since you can spray into a crowd of bugs knocking them backwards which is not something you can do with regular Morita. Plus the Carbine fires faster and is more accurate.

Arguably the most useless weapon is the Hunter shotgun since you are much better with the Hawkeye or XXX and if Bugs are close enough where you want to stun them, you're going to be using the Emancipator.

i seen with the regular morita it is the better long range killer why is because its slower rate of fire meaning less recoil for every time i used the carbine my shots are not sticking and connecting as often because of the faster fire rate it is great at short range i get better kills that way

The gunplay is a joke, no one thought about it. Every firearm shoots the same distance and the only funny thing is with the sniper you get a massive drop of the bullet at the same distance.

Someone needs to explain the logic to me in more detail.
hand guns are helpful as a back up weapon to the sniper rifles and the shot guns when you got to take down 7 drones i find the 1st hand gun is very for that and if your using a class that has the extended mag perk helps even more i am glad its a semi auto mode but this is on normal mode can't speak to easy or hard

i don't even risk taking pop shots often at long range with them to

MK1 , it doesn't have any redeem quality aside from a tab bit longer range than carbine and people sure love to defend this gun even though deep down they know MK1 will get them killed a lot more than other guns .

It doesn't have any stagger and you can't hope to always have bug at long distance to shoot , at some point the bug either catch you off guard or overwhelm your position .

Shotgun , Eman and GL will stun , Carbine , Peacemaker and SAW will immediately push them back and cancelling theirs attack thus saving your bacon while you still can kill them from a distance . But that not all , other guns have something special too , like carbine with very fast reload , Hawkeye being jack of trade sniper , SAW with large magazine pool , etc , all of them are more practical than a gun that only have small range advantage .

This pretty much sums it up.
I will even say the Peacemaker makes a far better primary than the MK1 rifle at range albeit the lack of ammo can become daunting.

With the operator I use Emancipator and Morita Mk1. I have most of the time the best kill count of the operators, this by finishing in the overall top 5 or even first, without even trying to make a high kill count as my main job is harvesting ore and gas. To be clear, when I play this class I never use the rocket launcher. If you know how to get the most out of this combo, you can be a top performer.

So from my point of view and since update 0.6, which increased the damage of the 2 Morita, I can't say that the Mk1 is the worst weapon.

I never cared for the sniper or the grenade launcher. The sniper because the reticule would often fail to render in the scope and the lack of decceleration when aiming, and the launcher because it just seemed like it was mostly teamkilling unless used on large horde base defense...

I agree. Stagger is massively important. My Operator carries the Nade Launcher and Standard Pistol. Being able to quick stun with a single nade in the field, switch to your pistol finish them off along with some drones. Some are saying 'only good at the base', I disagree in that regard, Operator + Chi-Hong is massively effective in the field. One shot with a nade, 180 and put some distance between, turn around and toss one more. Death, and possibly stunned some more, rinse repeat.

The Hunter's shotgun is by far the worst "use" of a weapon in the game as like you said, the Hunter has two much superior options. With the caveat that you technically 'could' play the Hunter as a Scout, which I think was the intention with the Shotgun. I tried it, wasn't for me.
on normal mode for the most part i don't have any problems taking down warrior bugs in one shot at times they take 2 but persons forget that the shot gun idea in any game is a point blank range type weapon anyone shot gun user must have nerves of steel before they can get the most out of the weapon
i find the carbine to be good.
