inferno bug attack style
even imagined its attack is like grenadier/artillery, I through it would fire a steam of flame like tankers or be like spread fire in a wide short ranged arc or straight up just a flamethrower.
like how the main projectiles explodes and split into many smaller projectiles just before it hits the ground

i like that its different but there should be an option to drop and roll or pat the fire out on a team mate or something :)

also these guys are tough as hell :)

yes, agreed

The good thing is, you can shoot down the projectiles in air before it hits a critical area. :emberwink:

It literally farts fireballs at you. It can also melee which was a surprise when I tried to engage it in hand to hand combat.

minor criticism: inferno bug attack/role too similar to grenadier

I'm disappointed to be honest. The fire bugs are just another version of the grenadier. Not quite the big bug that flames you from close up.

If you patted them out with your hands wouldn't you have no hands left - not sure I'll be patting out a fellow trooper when they are covered in napalm.

Tried that. It's quiet tricky, especially if you also want to fight anything else.

And even if you hit the projectile, if you break it after it passed the highest point of travel, the AoE effect will still hit the target because it spreads downwards and forwards in a set angle.

It only makes sense shooting at the projectiles if the devs change them to:
- drop the fire straight below the point of breaking
or
- no AoE when destroyed

For the fact that they can tunnel (teleport) and that they are smaller than grenadier,
they are ridiculously more tanky.

Didn't even know that, they always back away from me and move way faster than even my Scout.

It's worse than a grenadier.
Grenadier destroys buildings (and players if they are unlucky).
Inferno burns every player in a 5 mile radius and leaves the base open to the remaining bugs.

And there is about zero counterplay as of now.

btw they are really tanky unless you shoot them in the tail then they die real fast

Can confirm that. On the back you need only few shots. It looks like they´ve got already weakpoints. :haedir:

Probably evolve/adapted with how many players running up close to bomb grenadiers or tying to fight em up close.

So you need a buff for this Inferno bug? some CC skill for its fire?
<Caeris↝ Dec 14, 2023 @ 5:37am
Btw. Inferno bugs also very vulnerable to explosives like rocket launcher. :nuked:

That is the most efficient way to kill it atm (I think it takes 3-4 shots?), a scanned inferno bug will take 6 hits to the front and 4 to the back from Morita XXX to kill - which is way too long, I'd rather quickly dispatch other bugs beside warriors/drones first.

Ever since the XXX I've had no reason to grab a RL, now maybe it's time to compete with other classes for it again :steammocking:

It´s 3 shots from RL.
Edit: 2 with scan. :l2dragon:

That´s the reason why they move backwards, while you get closer, to protect their weakspot. :higgledysplish:

Inferno bugs are one of the best and most epic enemies I encountered in PvE games. My god fire rain is just so mesmerizing. I am very grateful I can show my friends videos where is everyone dying and screaming in the fiery hell during Horde mode. Looks almost as epic as those exploding starships in the first movie. With these kind of bugs you really feel like participating in human-bug war.

No hacky way to escape them. Everyone not accurate and quick enough dies.
