Napalm or Gas grenade?
Same thing? Does it matter?

Napalm blocks an area, since even Arachnids find it hard to walk across an area that is burning. Chem poisons and slows them. Both have their uses. I find napalm better for running and gunning, chem better for base defense. But that is just me.

Also, for extraction? Throw a chem outside and get credit for assisting with all the ones others kill. :)

Gas slows bugs that it touches while napalm creates an area where the bugs will avoid. Both do the same dps I think. IMO Napalm is my pick but it really does not matter. Both have their uses.

I personally hate the gas grenades because I feel it hinders your view, and besides fire kicks ass.

Found opposite to be the case, fire looks like a bunch of solid 2d sprites, no visibility through them...while gas is a heavy green haze that can be seen through.

Napalm is better hands down.

Both can block vision, depending on angles.

They are both fun. I just prefer chem because it slows them and the damage seems to last longer than the fire. I might be imagining it, but I get kills I never even see with chem.

Huh yeah you're right, just tested it in tutorial map.. Wondering what the smoke that irritates me is coming from, maybe cannisters being blown up.

Dust from rockets/grenades, smoke from canisters, bugs turned into gooey green mist...

Lots of things block visibility. That is actually one reason I use Chem. Less chance for Friendly fire with those than firing my weapon through an area I cannot see through. Fire might to might not hurt friendlies, but chem doesn't seem to. We all do wear fully sealed helmets, so that is probably why.

That and we are likely using nerve agents designed for invertebrates rather than the generalized agents of before. Modern bug spray in a future dispersion grenade form.

chem can be combined with the shock pylons to make a kill zone

With Napalm now your threat is on fire .
