You just don't want to have fun.
The one issue with this is that sometimes you do need to get out and provide cover to players trying to extract with dozens of bugs on their trail. Or worse, revive a player who just got taken down running to the boat.
The better thing would be for a circle of no xp. Every bug you kill once every player is by the boat gives zero xp.
If everyone is at the boat (as I posted) none of this is a thing. It is not faux heroism. It is just being obnoxious.
Had to say this in similar threads like this but if more than 50% of the players are inside the ship waiting to extract and you guys are still outside the ship shooting bugs so you can have "fun"then you're an ass, you're also selfish and use "having fun" as an excuse for why it should be ok.
Would be funny then if those people are left in the mission and have to survive until the next ship comes in like 2 minutes.
Then they can have their "hero" moment and die, losing all their exp and have their own time wasted.
That would be great actually, some would enjoy that and it wouldn't eff over everyone else.
This sounds somewhat like the horde mode that is coming.
