You can ping objectives and priority enemies if you do not wish to talk. Voice chat is not required and I have gone through entire play sessions with no one saying a peep.
Yeah, when you build something good but unusual at the base and other peoples laugh and change everything making it worse. And you can't tell them why you've done it this way, because there is no tchat ... Yeah, great idea ...
You can blame no chat but it is a choice of the individual not use the tools that are available.
This. Game's communication is one of the worst i ever seen. People cannot use text chat. People will not use tactical map. Developers have to put a stop to this absolute chaos or game will spin into mediocrity fast
There is literally no time to chat during parts of the game. The insanity never stops at the end until you get on the boat.
Honestly, with how frenetic and ♥♥♥♥♥♥' INSANE the combat gets, having people stop to type is worse than them saying nothing. So, I 100% agree with the choice to not include it. Seriously, text chat would impede the gameplay.
Yes, but for some other parts it may be very important to have one ! Like for the building part, for example, you're not in the middle of action when building the base, you can write important stuff. Instead of peoples building what they think is better, unbuild what the other did and can't explain why, so they end up TKing each other to let some frustration go out.
Damn, I mean I started talking partway through the first match because when you break off into groups to do objectives, it's VERY helpful to say, "Behind you SquishyBuns2033!" and it's SO satisfying to see them spin around and the two of you mow down a tiger then they just quickly meep out, "Thanks!" Like you know, they're never gonna _really_ voice chat, but the quick thanks for you giving them a split-second heads-up just made you two buddies and now you're in it together, and really? It ♥♥♥♥♥♥' feels so cool, and actually like doing some training ♥♥♥♥ or paintball/airsoft stuff, or just y'know playing with real people. It's engaging as hell, and I like it. And you don't HAVE to do it, but DAMN it's nice to have both the "whole channel" and "just proximity" chats.
