Starship Troopers isn't popular enough for this.

As I predicted months ago, the game is already down to 5000 players after a single week.

2-3 months from now you wont be able to find a lobby.

With games like Left 4 Dead or whatever you just need 3 friends but even pretty popular people cant usually fill this many players with friends.

This is fairly standard for MOST games. Honestly, I thought it would be down to 1k by now, considering the sheer lack of content, and what we have is "ok". The Starship Troopers skin is really keeping people in the game.

No most games dont need almost 20 players to simple start a lobby.

Oh you meant the amount of players. Bro Starship Troopers while cool isn't popular. I love Starship Troopers because like most 30 year old dudes i saw it as a kid when i wasnt supposed to.

But people should really wake up lol. Since the first movie (which was a flop), they have released what, 6 more flops plus 3 flopped video games?

The issue is people have this irrational belief that Starship Troopers is a huge media franchise, and by those metrics, 5000 players is nothing.

Building a game with 16 player lobbies like it is a huge media franchise was a mistake.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love Starship Troopers so I'd really like to buy this game, but at this rate this game is going to be a useless brick in a month or two.

Reminds me of this VR mecha game i bought once that was unbelievably awesome but it couldnt fill lobbies. Except in that game you could shoot each other while the lobby filled.

Once this game is down to 700-800 players youll be waiting in menu.

I have spent more on Lunch at Macca's, I played this for 27 hours since purchase, I Got my $25 worth, Even if it takes 6 months to see more maps & Missions to Test, My $25 will pay for Pizza while they Code....

Being a "EARLY ACCESS" is in the STORE Page, Means its not the Finished Game, Means Bugs on Screen & in Code, it needs work, that's what WE the Mobile Infantry are for, Dying, while Developers just do the Tweaking, Updates & Fixes ...

P.S.. This a Repeat of another Posting of mine ...

P.S.S ... If I have to kill All the Bugs by myself, I am OK with trying ..

jokes aside, it's an EA aka paid beta and barebones at that. i'll be surprised if it maintains 4-digits online for couple more months. comeback for release i guess

I've already got my $25 worth out of the game, if it's dead in 3 months I could really care less. Only reason I bought it now is because I figured it probably will be dead in a couple of months, and I still wanted to enjoy it. Mission accomplished.

Sorry to say with no AI players to fill slots online only and no dedicated server downloads if player numbers fall this game is gonna flop. I think i'll be waiting to see what new content the developers add before i send them any dollars. They went about this the wrong way unless plans are to add expanded multiplayer options in the near future. Im suddenly not as hyped for this game anymore. But no matter what happens one good thing, its helped make Starship Troopers popular again and known to younger generations.

You can play this game with any number of players, there is no minimum.
However, with that said i am still playing and have found full 20 person lobbies 99% of the time whether 3PM or 3AM.

Session, server, "in-game" what ever synonym floats your boat buddy.
Also it is 20 people, 5 squads of 4. Yes the documentation all says 16 but there are 20 people in every game i play. Maybe push Z and check yourself.
