Is it just me or anybody feels the same way?
Queue time usually not more than 15-20s and joining time under 10s.
My guess is that it's connecting to a node that has a dedicated route to the server, but your ping is returned by the node so the latency displayed is only a portion of the trip.
I will patiently wait for SEA server then.
For people residing at Japan, Aus, NZ, Philippine, the closest is US West.
Thailand, Vietnam pretty much get same ping either end.
In any case, you wouldn't want to play at more than 100 ping for FPS, unless you a masochist
The ingame ping is fake. All veteran gamers knows that it is above 100 ping if connecting from SEA.
Thanks for the info, but I do play with my NA homies at 180 ping in overwatch2, and I play hitscan heroes, I play in plat elo. They also play at the same ping range when overwatch chose a SEA server instead of NA server when we are in a party, they can pop off as a Widow at that ping.
What I am trying to say is, if I can get good stats on a competitive FPS then I can get good fun with co-op shooter even at high ping.
It is not the high ping that will be a problem, it is the server tick rate and packet loss.
