Not sure why this is 16 players, tactics, teamplay?
When I heard, 16 players with squads of 4, I assumed we would have different objectives on a large map, and teams would have to split up and complete missions on their own, and then maybe come together for a certain phase of the mission.

Right now, there is essentially 0 squad based teamplay, and the only teamplay mechanics are medics, and weight of fire.

There is very little tactical thought here, and I cant help but feel they would have been better off balancing this as a 4-8 player game with better performance, and tighter teamplay requirements.

Right now it is just, ball up with a horde of strangers and left click on poorly animated arachnids.

Kind of a bad game so far.

From the marketing this never looked like a tactical shooter to me. More like a L4D style horde shooter with objectives/building.

you are talking about the second map where you actually have objectives on different parts of the map and people need to work together to build the base until everyone defends it. doesnt work sometimes because people rush the gas cylinders but the second map is way more squad based then the first one.

Actually when having m,ultiple missions the squad leader can choose which mission its squad will be assigned, so there is tactical gameplay here and in the ARC mode its also necessary. That aside I assume it will be more fleshed out in the future.

That will be cool if they expand on it

That is the game mode once you hit level 5.

Was my concern as well until I heard about the mode at level 5. But ya, without that gamemode (Which I haven't even seen yet), its just a generic kinda-swarm shooter (Bug numbers aren't that big from what I've seen, so kinda-swarm) with nothing really special about it besides the SST skin. Adding 12 more players than the others just makes it more zergy.

I look forward to the other gamemode though, which hopefully creates that tactical gameplay that would actually make this a unique and fun game.

Sometime i feel 16 is not even enough lol . Especially final stage and terrible ARC placement.

it okay because if it hardcore difficulty arrive maybe will increase the player and maybe they will add a playable Bug like left for dead

Actually on ARC game mode there is exactly what you are describing.......There is a very large distance across the map with multiple objectives including ones that randomly pop up such as Elite bug swarms, bug patrols, random supply caches, etc..............

I've lost more than a few games on ARC game mode because everyone just stayed at the main objective which screwed us for the end of match horde.

"poorly animated arachnids.

Are we playing the same game? poorly animated arachnids? This game looks good, and the hordes of creatures assaulting your four man group while you are running canisters back to the ARC while you hope the nearest squad can support you as they keep unearthing themselves from the very ground you are running on.

Bad game? No I see the love and dedication in this project and I can see the way forward as more features become available. If you did not want a horde survival shooter then why did you think this game would be any different? The original source material is nothing but hordes of arachnids. I am confused as to what else you could have expected it to be.

Balling up with strangers and shooting at the arachnids is exactly how this game should feel at times especially when you have to go rescue a person who fell behind on extraction. That is war trooper, and only through war do you become a citizen!

This. It's ARC game mode. Bunch of dynamic events happening all over a big ass map. It's way more fun than the starter game mode.

We have been playing in discord and using teams to do objectives in ARC. The teams really make sense there but in pub play, yeah they don't really work

you know you can tell squads and people to focus on different things right? ♥♥♥♥ i hate people lol
Smoshi May 18, 2023 @ 1:17pm
The game mode you unlock at level 5 is way better and is more squad focused
