That is the game mode once you hit level 5.
Was my concern as well until I heard about the mode at level 5. But ya, without that gamemode (Which I haven't even seen yet), its just a generic kinda-swarm shooter (Bug numbers aren't that big from what I've seen, so kinda-swarm) with nothing really special about it besides the SST skin. Adding 12 more players than the others just makes it more zergy.
I look forward to the other gamemode though, which hopefully creates that tactical gameplay that would actually make this a unique and fun game.
Actually on ARC game mode there is exactly what you are describing.......There is a very large distance across the map with multiple objectives including ones that randomly pop up such as Elite bug swarms, bug patrols, random supply caches, etc..............
I've lost more than a few games on ARC game mode because everyone just stayed at the main objective which screwed us for the end of match horde.
Kind of a bad game so far."
Are we playing the same game? poorly animated arachnids? This game looks good, and the hordes of creatures assaulting your four man group while you are running canisters back to the ARC while you hope the nearest squad can support you as they keep unearthing themselves from the very ground you are running on.
Bad game? No I see the love and dedication in this project and I can see the way forward as more features become available. If you did not want a horde survival shooter then why did you think this game would be any different? The original source material is nothing but hordes of arachnids. I am confused as to what else you could have expected it to be.
Balling up with strangers and shooting at the arachnids is exactly how this game should feel at times especially when you have to go rescue a person who fell behind on extraction. That is war trooper, and only through war do you become a citizen!
This. It's ARC game mode. Bunch of dynamic events happening all over a big ass map. It's way more fun than the starter game mode.
