What do bugs eat?
On this arid planet... Except for mobile infantry, of course.

People have theorized they have workers that farm a fungi, like some ant species do.
Older warriors are probably cannibalized either just eaten raw, or are used as a sort of fertilizer.
There are a couple of hive areas where you can see there are things of fungi growing.

Makes sense.

Warrior bug mouths don't have the capability of chewing and their body dimensions suggest a very basic digestive system.

It is likely they are fed by other bugs with some sort of highly processed paste or nectar.

The thing is that you can't really see their hive, they travel on asteroids, the only insects we fight are warriors.
the working class is not really seen.
They are probably in very distant corners of the galaxy.

Who we fight against is nothing more than the troops, who are probably suicidal, it is common among insects.
Also, bug meat is delicious! The younger drones are so tender! You should try it today, here's my masterpiece federation approved recipe:

Ingredients:
700g minute bug steaks
2 tsp artificial low-sodium sea salt flakes
1 tsp imitation black peppercorns
1 tsp fake yellow mustard seeds
½ tsp ultra processed onion powder

Method:
Bash the steaks out as thinly as possible using a meat hammer or rolling pin, then cut into 3cm wide strips (against the grain). Put the salt, peppercorns and onion powder in a pestle and mortar, then roughly crush. Apply the rub to the beef strips and leave to cure for at least 1 hour (or overnight in the fridge).

Mix all the ingredients together to make the dressing, then taste and season with salt and pepper.

When ready to cook, thread the beef onto skewers. Cook on the hottest part of the barbecue for a minute or so on each side. You want to sear hot and fast, as you would with steak in a pan, to avoid rubbery, chewy meat. Leave to rest for a couple of minutes before transferring to a platter.

Is this from any official publication, or are you, like, a bug expert?
